when you say "standard form factor" do you mean to fit into standard atx cases?
because I dont plan on using a case if that makes a difference

Well. If you like playing with neodymium magnets you'll probably be able to pull massive ones out of the drives. Cost you a lot though.
 
As for NAS. SATA drives can be bought these days in excess of 10TB. The down payment will be more than the SCSI drives but electrical cost will be far less in the long run.

motherboard supports max of 12gb I believe. its triple channel supported
It may just be easier buying a whole new set but I cant find much info on which ones to buy

so gpu seemed normal no spikes really just consistent, however cpu had spikes and whatever voltage limit is had just 1 spike every now asnd then close to the time it lags i think.
