Going for similar build, my only issue right now is picking the right GPU. EVGA is probably the best choise here since the case seem to be designed for it but i never tried an EVGA product before and all i hear is thermal issue on their card which seem to be fixed by now but for what ever reason they added some bullshit fuse to the GPU PCB (inb4 it blows up after the warranty ends lol). I now want to stay away from it even more. The Strix is the best 10x0 series card imo, runs cooler and quiter also will match your ROG motherboard, aura sync etc... That being said you wont have enough GPU clearance if you decide to install 240mm rad, i blame NZXT for that, like ffs if this case was an inch longer it would support both x62 and 300mm GPU. You only got only few options here,

    1. Either get air cooler or 120mm rad
    2. Shorter GPU

Also i recommend that you get an SF600 PSU, it will help the GPU to breath. If you install ATX PSU, HDD and all the cabled the holes will be non existence.

MentalBlank got a reaction from maxvons in Asus ROG Swift qc?
All G-Sync, 144Hz, 1440p use the same panel. So far i have tried 2x Asus PG279Q, 1x Acer XB271HU, 1x DELL S2716DG and here is the result:

My first Asus swift had massive backlight bleed, one dead pixel top to the right, IPS glow, and dust inside the panel.
    http://imgur.com/a/DMmkz

Second swift had 30% less backlight bleed than the first one, 0 dead pixels, IPS glow and dust inside the panel.
    http://imgur.com/a/OMpV1

Moving to the Acer XB271HU very minimal backlight bleed, one dead pixel to down to the left and a black line, IPS glow and dust just like the asus.
    http://imgur.com/a/SukCF

And finally the Dell, noticeable backlight bleed because the bleed was blue instead of white, no glow because it's a TN panel, horrible colors until you customize it form the Nvidia controll panel, no dead pixel, dust inside the panel, G-Sync was working weird in league of legends loading screen the brightness felt like going down and up, and finally the most annoying thing i had to deal with this monitor is ''pixel inversion'' it was noticeable as fuck especially if you turn fast respons time on.
    http://imgur.com/a/fxW75

I will go and give the Asus PG279Q a 3rd try if not a 4th, i had the best gaming experience with this monitor. Sadly the backlight bleed and ips glow was way beyond compare to other monitors. My 3rd monitor should be here by monday, i will keep you updated.

    Edit!!
Just got my 3rd Swift and holy shit this is the worst one so far, i wish i kept my mouth shut and didn't RMA my Swift #2.
This one that i got has 6-7 dead pixels to top that off the backlight bleed was yellow and noticeable as fuck.

MentalBlank reacted to maxvons in Asus ROG Swift qc?
It's not really Asus' fault. It's the panel maker, AU Optronics. The panel itself is shit and not really ready for the market. But to answer your question, yes. They do have major QC issues. I just experienced that myself a few weeks ago.

    Pro:
    - beautiful case, very clean looking
    - easy to build in and stuff away your cables.

    Con:
    - pretty bad airflow, choked front and top
    - the side window is the worst, very easily scratched and a true dust magnet

All and all, I'm happy with it.

    Hi there MentalBlank

I'm sorry to hear about the situation.
In order to exclude the health of both drives as the potential cause of the situation I would download and run WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic and see if both drives pass both the quick and the extended tests. Furthermore, I would additionally check the raw values of the S.M.A.R.T. status of each drive (post them here if you are not sure how to read them) and I would also run a couple of benchmarks to see the actual speeds with which the drives work.

Checking if the drives are fragmented is also a good idea.

Post back with the results and we can continue digging about where the situation is coming from.

MentalBlank got a reaction from Glenwing in Do TN have backlight bleeding as well?
I wouldn't mind backlight bleeding that much but i'm not getting the ''premium'' that i payed for. So far i found more issues with this monitor and it's my second day using it... The screen panel feel cheap and loose (the whole thing want to come out), to top that off i found a dead pixel down to the left and something dirty/blurry top to the right. The ROG LED wont turn off once the monitor goes in sleep mode until i turn them off manually which is stupid in my opinion. I have to admit that Asus just sucks at making premium monitors, i had few 200$ Asus TN monitors before and never had a problem with them. Even tho the monitors were cheap but i can confirm they felt way more premium than shitty 1000 $ Swift. Never buying asus ever again.
My only positive about this monitor is the full black design other wise i would have picked the acer from the beginning but it has that red toy legs.
Anyway thank you for taking your time explaining it to me. I appreciate that.

MentalBlank reacted to Glenwing in Do TN have backlight bleeding as well?
Backlight bleed is an inherent flaw with backlit LCD technologies. The specific panel type doesn't matter. All LCDs have backlight bleed to some degree. Since it has to do with light leaking around the edges of the panel, not the light passing through the panel, TN or IPS is irrelevant. Backlight bleed depends on the tolerances of the manufacturing process of the panel assembly (as distinct from the manufacturing of the monitor itself).

The specific IPS panel used in the PG279Q, XB270HU, etc. seems to suffer from backlight bleed more often than others. Most likely this is just due to supply issues. The yield for IPS panels that can operate at these high frequencies (120+ Hz) is quite low, and the demand for these monitors is pretty high. So, the standards of quality testing are lowered to meet demand, and AUO ends up selling batches of panels to ASUS, Acer, etc. which would normally not pass their QC tests. But due to the supply problem, they have decided this amount of backlight bleed is acceptable, to increase their output of panels. This is only speculation based on what we know publicly, but it's the most likely explanation for why so many of these monitors are coming with bad panels.

Unfortunately, after seeing that these particular monitors had backlight bleed issues (and they all use the same panel supplied by AUO, so it's really just 1 single model in question), some less experienced people have leapt to the conclusion for no reason at all that ALL IPS panels in general have way more backlight bleed than other panel types, and have started spreading this misinformation around. IPS panels have been in use for decades. If they had inherently more backlight bleed, it would be a well-known fact, not something being discovered all the sudden. This is not new technology. Having used a variety of IPS panels over the years, the spectrum of backlight bleed isn't any different from other panel types. There are good ones and bad ones. The PG278Q may have much less backlight bleed than the PG279Q, but it has nothing to do with the general TN vs. IPS panel type. What you observe when comparing them is only the difference between those specific TN and IPS panels.

MentalBlank got a reaction from CandleJakk in How do SSDs speed up one's PC?
Yes, the operating system should be installed on your SSD. It will not speed up your other harddrives or software that is not insalled on the SSD. Things like movies, games should be on your HDD. Install the software on your SSD that takes long time to open or the one you mostly will use like a web browser, Microsoft World etc...

Is it your internet or just the WIfi signal? If your internet getting DC then you should call your ISP and if the router then you may need to check the settings, it may reset itself every 1 hour. If none of that was the problem then it may be the device you are using, i mean your pc or smartphone.

What is your router modell number?
