Pretty sure it'll be available soon.  You could just wait until you can buy the Strix 2080 Ti.
Also, I'd recommend waiting for benchmarks anyways. Unless you really need a new GPU or you just want the best of the best.

In the last WAN show Linus made a comment about people being upset about the tragedy of the Kenobi movie being canceled. He then proceeded to make fun of the prequels in general. Episode 3 is the greatest movie of all time (unironically), and I have completely lost respect for Linus. Can we not talk about episode 8, which they literally broke hyperdrive, or how they changed directors and they scrapped the road map.

Take it up with Nvidia, they've been doing this for years.

Their performance gain per generation usually goes like this:
    previous gen xx80Ti = next gen xx80
    previous gen xx80 = next gen xx70
    previous gen xx70 = next gen xx60
    and so forth.

I was having the same issue as Blackoutjazz. I replaced my Enermax 360 with a new one and bang I am now running 38c at idle and full stress on all cores for 1 minute and only got to 60c. It's like a whole new machine.

If you get an SSD for solely boot time, you're doing it wrong. It's for overall system performance. A PC with an i3 + SSD will feel more responsive than one with an i7 + HDD.

I can add some new insights to the phenomenon, too:

After I repositioned my cooler, temps were normal again for about a week. Of course I thought it must have been some weird positioning issue with air bubbles getting stuck in some weird places and blocking heat dissipation. However, when temps rose again and shut doiwn my system, because it was getting too hot under load, I began trying to reposition it again and this time it didn't work. I found out later that if I smack the side of the radiator where the tubes go in and out hard, the heat on this side dissipates, the other end of the radiator gets much warmer for about 10 seconds and temparatures start to drop. Sometimes the effect lasts longer, however, it's never permanent. It seems to me, too, that there must be some kind of corrosion going on inside that blocks the water transport by blocking the fins or something like that.
How is this possible and how come I was affected twice in a row with 2 different Liqtec 240s? If this is not a larger issue regarding the product, my receiving two bad AIOs in a row is highly unlikely.

Enermax LIQTECH TR4 360 worked for 4 months. The temperature all grew and grew... My AMD 1950X is 50-55 degrees in idle time. Yesterday I disassembled my AIO cooler and here's the result...
Now i already washed the entire circuit and filled a new liquid without dye. Now the temperature has become adequate. But I do not know how long this will last. There is a trace of corrosion on the water block and this is very bad.
Support my Twitter post! It is necessary that everyone knows that this is garbage.

    This is from
    http://forum.computerlounge.co.nz/posts/t8292--Noctua-NH-D15--vs--Corsair-H100i--vs--EKWB-Custom-Loop

    if you want the source.

That being said the "custom loop" they used is a prebuilt one that just consists of a good pump, waterblock, and radiator.
    EKWB Custom Loop:
EKWB EK-Supremacy Evo Acetal+Nickel CPU Block EKWB EK-DDC 3.2 PWM X-RES 140 Reservoir/Pump Combo EKWB CoolstreamXTX 240 Radiator 4 x Noctua NF-F12 PWM 120mm 1500RPM Focused Flow Fans So it is by no means a big custom loop or a super good one, just a basic loop comparable to the AIO in the comparison but using good components.

So you say it factually isn't better, yet you quoted a test that provides facts.

Water cooling IS better when it comes down to it. This is why custom water is often used and/or required for really aggressive overclocks. It does have aesthetic value as well, but that is all going to be based on people's opinion.

The facts are that custom water can dissipate MORE heat than air cooling solutions and it can also do it more quietly if you set it up that way. To be comparable with air cooling you would need a heatsink that would not fit inside your case, which is why air cooling does not compete.

The risk of water are minimal if you follow proper precautions.

Also in the comparisons like above the do tend to be flawed in favor of air. They are running on open test benches which give the cooler constant access to fresh ambient air, something they will not have in a case compared to water. Next they aren't putting a high load on these items, which again is where water excels. It can handle much higher TDP.

So in the test above if they were to raid the TDP of the CPU by say 30-50 watts... then the air cooler would start to buckle and temps would start to rapidly climb. However, the water cooler would like stay the same or in worst case scenario see a 1-2 c Increase in temps.

I have the the same problem:

    Sys: 1950x @ 3.8 GHz on ASUS X399 Prime A in a 4U server environment

What happens is that the Enermax cooler works perfectly (c.p. - same configuration) and after a few weeks it *seems* like some of the fins or parts of the radiator get blocked or something. Temps will then reach 85°C under load and be around 60°C at idle. The same system was at 65°C under load and a litle over 40°C idle when the cooler was first set up a few weeks ago. I've had this happen twice now, i.e. I've already returned the same model (Enermax LiqTech TR4 240) and bought the same model again to test wether I just got a bad sample of if this is a different problem. Same phenomenon. This suggests that it either has to do with the physical setup (e.g. position or orientation of the cooler) or with the product line / batch.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to proceed?

Yup Asrock really kind of messed things up too with my temps by going Tctl I usually have to rely on other software like amd master utility for better results.
I'll double check my system tonight post a ss of my normal idle temps and load they are about 50s-70s doesn't go below that and im OC'd a little of 4 ghz
Now that i think about it those sound normal but then again im not really sure what Asus is using for temp source.

Pretty sure 8700K is still going to be superior at gaming when Zen+ launches at the end of April.

However, it will only be better by a very tiny margin, not enough to call it a decisive victory.

Zen+ will be a much better all-rounder CPU thanks to the extra cores and threads at the same price point (Comparing R7 2700X to i7 8700K)

As for cooling, take note that either air cooling or an AIO would be a good choice. If going for air cooling then a large twin tower would be recommend as some beat most 240mm AIOs and can match 280mm AIOs.

That being said, since you can accept 140mm fans instead of 120, the 280mm AIO is a great option so long as you choose one with a thick radiator and put some good, high static pressure fans on it.

I personally run the Cryorig R1 Universal and it is a fantastic cooler. If you put both 140mm intake fans on that case so the R1 is properly fed with a bunch of air, then this thing will probably outclass even the 280mm AIO. Its a beast and I tested mine vs the Corsair H150i and it tied!
