Bleedingyamato got a reaction from Mr.Nelf in Kaspersky files an antitrust lawsuit to EU and Russia against Microsoft for keeping users safe with Windows Defender
Except for having a few minor issues with its anti-ransomware module (which currently I have disabled) I like Bitdefender.
Though to each their own of course. ?
A drunk pony on the Internet. ? This I'd be curious to see. ?
One being that users should have total control over when/if to install updates like they used to.
If they release an update that is buggy and people are forced to install it they could be stuck with unusable computers until MS is able to release a fix.
A good related example within the last 6 months I think it was there was an Nvidia graphics driver that was causing problems which made not installing it a good idea.
If the driver update had been forced upon users then the situation could've been much more widespread.

Bleedingyamato got a reaction from johnukguy in What are some good and secure alternatives to Windows Remote Desktop for Windows 10?
So TeamViewer is safe it was just users not using proper security software and using bad passwords made worse by sharing between accounts?
Is TeamViewer what you'd suggest?
Or do you know if W10 Home does in fact support Windows Remote Desktop like the pro version?
I asked an employee at a MS store kiosk at a local mall and he told me W10 Home does support/allow Remote Desktop it just doesn't come with it already installed as part of the OS so you have to download it.
Any idea if that's true?

Not a tech purchase but it's big and fluffy so I wanted it.

Bleedingyamato got a reaction from genexis_x in What ssd should I get?
If OP just needs a boot drive with room for some games an 850 Pro or Evo would work well unless he wants an M.2 drive which he might not it sounds like.
My understanding is that an NVME ssd like the 960 Pro will be mostly/if not only be noticeable in certain use cases. For simply looking for fast bootup and games an 850 Pro or Evo will still deliver fast speed while saving money.
A Pro would be preferable IMO because it'll last a crazy long time but even the Evo will likely outlive the computer unless OP is writing to it a lot more than an average amount.
Hope this helps.

This thread gets a homemade cookie. Not sure how splitting it will work, but I'm certain you can all figure it out, or fight to the death.

I have no doubt I got some odd looks when I bought all of this.
75 cents each (except the big container), I could not restrain myself.

Honestly, I feel that any patriotic American willing to serve our country should be able to serve, provided they meet the fitness requirements set out by the army.
If it's really too much of a financial burden on the military, then just let them get private insurance to cover the costs of their transition! Outright banning them from serving is wholly unfair and, frankly, Trump has disgraced every man and woman who willingly put their lives on the line to keep us safe with this decision.

Bleedingyamato got a reaction from SquintyG33Rs in Confirmed MacBook Pro and WiFI issues
To be fair if the Macs didn't need an adapter then it wouldn't matter if any adapter was properly shielded.
Though also to be fair those adapters should never have been released for purchase if they are defective in this way.

Thats good.
I prefer wired mice because no batteries. But wireless can be nice too since there's no cord.
It doesn't look that bad. lol

Much better. Not lightning fast but fast enough to get by with and much better than what you've had to put up with.
