My RX5700 was exhibiting the same as issue yours. Sadly I had to replace the GPU because after a while it refuses to output display whatsoever.

Most likely one of the capacitor died considering the age. If you can find local electronic repair shop, they probably can just replace the caps and resistors with exact same value and you'll be good to go for another decade.

IMO you would be hard pressed to find better system at $500 mark. Cheapest AV Receiver is already $300, not including Subwoofer, center speaker, front speaker, and rear speaker which could easily another $200 EACH ($800 total).

Edit: I'm not surround guy, but me personally Center Speaker + Front Speaker is more than enough for movies. My Wharfedale put out more bass than I already needed, so I also don't run any subwoofer.

The 70 series used to be more of a mainstream card, when Nvidia had priced their cards at more of a mainstream level. But now that all the 40 series cards are priced up a whole tier, cards that were midrange are now being sold as higher end cards. The 4070 which has a die size of a x60 tier card, and not much of a performance increase over the previous x70 tier while being more expensive. Nvidia is trying really hard with the 40 series to sell their cards with DLSS3, although in my opinion DLSS3 frame generation should only be used as a last resort if a game doesn't run at the monitor resolution or you can't run a game at high with decent frame rate.
And I agree the x90 tier should be the Titan, when the x90 tier was added it only caused the other high end cards to be more expensive.

It little bit more then your current budget but it way worth it because the screen can flip. I have used it to record 4k and also Capture for live stream in 4k. Also good at photography stuff.  It has Sony E mount and can be changed with other brand with adapters. Would give more possibility with it.

    I currently Use
    A6000 we have 2
    A6400
    ZV E10

I ended up buying different lens that are in E mount.

Goldilock reacted to Shooterdude34 in What model of Noctua 120mm fans should I be using?
i have their NF-S12a fans, and i love them. theyre rediculously quiet but move a decent amount of air. The nf-a12x25 is the best all around from their lineup but can be somewhat pricey at 30-40$ per fan. the s12-a is more often 15-20$ per fan. the nf-s12 b is also a decent option and can be found for $15.

If youre not putting the fans in a tiny case or on a radiator/fin stack, youre most looking for a airflow optimised design rather than pressure optimised.

It sounds like to me the GPU are having physical issue. For example the GPU are not fed the juice correctly during startup.

BTR5 has plenty of power (more than typical dongle). I use Sonata HDV and barely 10% with IEMs.

If you have RAM placement issue, the PC usually won't boot at all or you'll have consistent BSOD.

Checking for shorting is really hard, but the person usually felt the zap during shorting.

It would be game changer if you have other person who can redo the CPU the 6/8 pin CPU power plug. Because when the PC shutdown after a while it's highly probable the 6/8 pin (which is used for auxiliary power) is not plugged correctly.

I'm also not sure where you get power for the PC. Is it directly from wall or you have UPS?

As someone who also lives in crappy power grid. I'm skipping UPS altogether because (1) it degrade over time, (2) it's kinda pricy, and (3) I assume you don't do any mission critical work on home PC, so power off here and there are fine.

    My setup is really simple:

Power cord > Voltage regulator > 6 slot power extension cord > PC & Monitor (speaker I use small USB powered one).

Also considering 5 meter is kinda long, I'll ensure getting nice voltage regulator 1000 Watts minimum that comes with thick power cord. Also don't cheapen out on the power cord extension.

    Hope that helps.

Goldilock reacted to Riccardo Cagnasso in Are youtubers getting microphones wrong?
I remember the old days of youtube when everyone was using some ambient, maybe camera, microphone and audio quality was horrible. A staple of that days was the youtuber renting his first studio and there was a lot of echo due to the empty room and the ambient mic. (as a sidenote, when people will finally learn that some heavy, curly, curtains are better than any absorbing panel? Just ask any theater. I'm looking at you James).

Now everybody has a decent studio mic shure sm7. Which is fine. Well it's more than fine, it's an amazing microphone and you can't say anything about audio quality. But I'm not sure I would go straight to a studio mic if I were to do things on youtube. Because you have this big thing on your desk that you need to mount on an arm and a suspended mount to isolate it from vibrations. Then, you have a lot of proximity effect, certalny from a dynamic mic like the sm7, but really from any cardiod pattern microphone. This is great if you are singing because you can exploit it, but it means you kinda have to learn how to use the mic, keeping your head and mouth quite close, at a constant distance and angle from the mic. Cfr. this video where Jay tells his experience with his new sm7

This problem is really well known by people doing live events. If you use a sm58 handheld microphone, you will instantly spot the trained speaker - e.g. a journalist - who will hold the mic correctly and the newbie who will keep moving it around. You can usually track the head movement of the speaker by sampling the swearing from the audio engineer trying to compensate it. This is not only about being trained to hold still in a correct position, but also being able to. If you have to do stuff, interact with people, show around, you will need to move and audio will be impacted.

The solution to all this is quite simple: use a lavalier or better an headset microphone. This is what everyone has always been doing on television and for good reasons. You get free hands, free movement and constant audio output. You can see Luis Rossman - who coincidentally has professional audio background - using exactly this solution most of the times. Also, if you need, you can plug it into a bodypack and get wireless. I mean, it's so much more convenient and it's exactly what you do on live events whenever it can be done (meaning whenever you don't have a lot of speakers in turns). Yes good quality headsets can be somewhat on the expensive side, but we are talking hundreds of dollars in a forum where video cards under 1000$ are looked at with disdain.

So, my two cents (pun intended) to youtubers out there: drop the studio mic and get yourself an headset. Yes it won't look so cool in the thumbnail, but your life will be better.

    Moondrop quarks
    Tanchjim Tanya

    If you like more bass:
    CCA C12
    TRN V90s

The included eartip in this price often lackluster. KZ starline or Spinfit CP100 is very strategic upgrade.

Your experience sounds eerily similar to mine.

I have a hard time accepting that $175 HE-400 SE feels, accessorised, and sounds cheap. IEM for the same price I can get titanium housing (Ikko OH-10), or some hand made design like Seeudio Yume.

While headphone are stuck with same plastic injection mold + classic dynamic driver, IEM market has gone far beyond with 5 axis cnc, berylium and graphene driver, exotic metal housing for $150 iems?. Iems are wild in 2021.

I have personal believe that there is no more engineer left working in headphone industry because everything is same old same old every year.
