  1. Ok mate, thanks for the feedback! I mostly want shadowplay because I'll be recording videos for youtube. I'm going for the 1070, just as planned. Gotta tell you, at the beginning, I didn't like this card much, but now after I saw proof of what it can do, I'm loving it.
  2. Alright, good to know :). And btw I don't mind lowering a few settings, I always prioritize performance > quality. And I mostly want to get a 1070 instead of 1060 so that I can play most upcoming games of 2017+ smoothly in 1080p. And I've seen Youtube videos where the 1070 utterly destroys games like csgo in 1080p, and still performs well enough in all the new ones in this resolution.
  3. I dont have any monitor, but I have decided to buy a 1080p 60Hz monitor. I'm not really concerned about 120Hz or more. I've been gaming at 60Hz all the time until now and I find it is enough. And since I can afford the extra money for the 1070, why would I buy a 1060. Also, I don't want to go with the RX480 or any other Amd product, as I want the Nvidia features (shadowplay, DSR, GeForce Experience etc.)
  4. I'm thinking of buying a GTX 1070 for a new build. My monitor will be a 1080p Asus VS247HR. The rest of the system has an i7-6700 and 16GB of DDR4 ram. Will the card give me great framerates in every game maxed out in 1080p? And don't start about buying a 120Hz/144Hz monitor, I don't really have money for that. Also will it be able to give me 60+ fps on newer games like Watch Dogs 2 and Battlefield One?
  5. I'm looking for a 1080p monitor, around 100-130$, but I'm not sure about a couple of things: 1) Will there be noticeable difference between 1ms and 5ms response time? 2) Are 60Hz enough for gaming? (not competitive or esports or anything, just smooth, enjoyable gameplay in all games) 3) What level of brightness is considered ok for a monitor? That last one is because I came across the Asus VP228TE which is relatively cheap and looks great, with 1ms response time and everything, but its brightness is 200cd/m², while other monitors have a brightness up to 300-400cd/m². Will it be seriously dim? Thanks a lot!
  6. Hey Linus! I know many people would like to see benchmarks and reviews not only of the 1080, but also the 1070 and 1080Ti, when they'll be released. A review of the new Polaris cards would be much appreciated too. Summer 2016 looks set to become the ultimate gamer's dream!

I'm sure they will review/benchmark those cards (and also the upcoming 1060).

  7. So you're telling me I can get a 350$ pascal card that is as good as a 650$ maxwell card?
  8. How better will the 1080 perform than the 980ti? Will the 1070 perform better than the 980ti? Could you suggest some cheaper alternatives to my other parts (mobo/cpu cooler/ram/hdd/ssd) Oh, and when I said video editing, I didn't mean any kind of professional work, thing is I may take youtube gaming videos more seriously with this nice build. That kind of editing. My plan for now is: -Wait for the 1070/1080, see how they perform and compare to the maxwells, and then make a choice. -Try to find a cheap 1080p <140$ display. -Try to find a not too expensive, reliable motherboard. -Reduce costs from other parts as much as possible. I'm on a strict budget, initially about 1K, but since I've decided to keep this machine for a few years I guess I can raise that a bit. Some info I didn't provide in the beginning: I'll use the pc for games, editing, making videos and uploading to youtube. I'd like to get 60fps stable in all new games for a few years. (at 1080p) Maxed out and Antialiasing isn't a requirement, but playing on at least high settings (for current games) and medium-high settings (for newer games) is. I hope this extra info clarifies the situation.
  9. I'd prefer to go with a Nvidia GTX. And the 980ti right now is believed to be the fastest gpu ever, even sometimes faster than the titan x (of course excluding the 1070 and 1080). So why shouldn't I go with the king of the hill and future proof my machine?? (Also, by choosing a 1080p display instead of something bigger I can future proof it for much more time and many more games) And 400$ for a monitor? I'll be way out of budget for the 980ti that I fell in love with. btw I'm also gonna do video editing and rendering with the pc. I dunno if that helps.
  10. So the fraps fps counter will only go up to 60 when gaming on a 60Hz monitor?
  11. That's ok, y know it's my first actual gaming build and I want it to be really good. About the monitor, my laptop can get 200 or more frames in many games (700+ in minecraft), and I highly doubt it has a 700Hz screen. Maybe you mean something else?
  12. My budget is 1300$-1400$, and I would really really really like to have a Nvidia card in my system. It seems that in everything Nvidia is always one step ahead than AMD.
  13. 1. Release price for the 1080 is 700$, and the 980ti is 650E right now in my country. However I'll see about the 1070. 2. No, just what I told you, at least 4 usb slots, either 2.0 or 3.0, and 2 dimm slots for each of the 8gb sticks. I'm not going for SLI, just want something reliable to future-proof this build for about 2-3 years. 3. An IPS monitor would be better, but if it's too pricey I'll settle for a LED instead. Also: What does a 60Hz or 144Hz refresh rate mean? For example having a 60Hz monitor means that I can't reach more than 60 fps in a game? Sorry that I forgot to mention my budget, it's up to 1300$-1400$
