About time we had console catch up, they should actually beat PC's, we need an Original XBOX era again, we got some amazing games that generation for both PC and console, no underpowered ports with downgrades either.

My 970 never stutters in any game, not even The Witcher 3 and I use Ultra Textures. I also don't plan on using Win 10 anytime soon so DX12 not an issue for me.
 
I'd take a 970 right now over the 670, that's for sure.
 
Give gaming a rest for 10 days, buy RX 470 or 480.

yes, kepler has been gimp'd twice in a row now, first by Maxwell release and now by Pascal release
it is really sad to see that 3-5 year old AMD architectures can still be fine tuned and optimized to match the five miracles of nVidia

Well, anyway, I still haven't felt a need to upgrade it, maybe when Zen comes out I might upgrade, but still happy with my X6.

And on that same post people saying that on the same clock, on everywhere else, the thuban would outperform the Deneb, well, having two extra cores on the CPU won't hurt me

I'm getting the 6870, negotiated it for 315. Will be enough to play RL and finish some games that I was halfway through that don't require as much horsepower, such as Life is Strange and Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon. When the RX 480 arrives I'll sell this bad boy.

umm I notice there's some minor stuttering on the arab track during the night
but I haven't played it with updates and game ready drivers, it was back when the demo came out
 
EDIT: just launched it again (have updated the drivers since, and there have been patches to the game)
running all max settings with custom (no dynamic whatever) 1440p smooth no stutter even on the arab track during the night
crossfire still doesn't work though

I played it on my r9 380 on high settings on 1440p very smooth.

My 580 destroys my 670 in Hitman, LOL.

3dfx is love,3dfx is life...Im soooooo sad nvidia bought 3dfx if they just did not go bankrupt im %99 sure we would have 4k gaming cards already but they went bankrupt and i feel sad

AMD cards by the looks of it will crush Nvidias in dx12 not to mention for games that dont have dx12 support AMD always has mantle avaible, AMD's driver support is getting better with every release and the rx 480 is going to be a big hit for Nvidia since nvidia fucked up by sticking to make high end cards but that takes like only %20 of the market , not to mention if you can build a gaming pc for the price of a console with the rx 480 and it can game at 1080p ultra settings 60 fps the console would be crushed and AMD would come out on top

I dont care im a AMD fanboy , AMD was always better than Nvidia in low budget cards and they were not scrubs as Nvidia trying to make billions of scams , im with you my friend!

theres multiple reasons why amd wont go bankrupt, and if they do nvidia wont be the "single market player" at least for long.
 
truth is that both economically and -in fact by law- a monopoly is not a very good situation to be in.

To be fair, AMD has been rehashing the same similar chips for ages now, IE: working on drivers for their 280x benefitted the 7970, and so on.  It's not a surprise that their older chips have been steadily gaining on their nvidia counterparts, or even surpassing them.  When you re-use the same shit over and over essentially, all of your products will benefit from driver optimizations.  
 
 

which isnt necessarily a bad thing to re-use older silicon, i mean, if we ignore power consumption it basicly allows them to decrease research cost by n-1 where n is the amount of GPUs in their new lineup.
