    I have a lot of video's and photo's that will be stored on there. I will connect the NUC to my TV with HDMI so I can watch those video's from the NUC. I have a couple of 2.5 Inch hard drives laying around and a couple of external HDD's and a usb for the operating system.

    NAS4Free is actually VM compatible. Tried it on my MacBook '12 within Windows 10 Pro and worked great when using the MacBook.

    I was planning to use a Intel NUC running Windows 10 as both a NAS and as media streamer for the TV. I will install Windows 10 on the NUC and install nas4free in a VMware virtual machine. Is this Intel NUC powerful enough to run stream a video file from the virtual machine on the NUC itself, and play it in Windows 10? (Plus 8GB of DDR3 ram) EDIT: This is a budget build, so no budget for more ram or a better processor.
