  1. Hello, thanks for using Synergy. Our file drag and drop feature is experimental, and unfortunately it doesn't seem to work well for most people. This is why we don't advertise the feature on our features page. We plan to being re-developing the drag and drop feature after Synergy 3 has been released. Thanks for your patience!

This is a feature request that we do plan to implement in the future, but as a workaround, @corrado33's ideas could help to fill in the gap until we get it implemented. By the way, we do have Discord/Slack and forums where you can discuss Synergy feature ideas. If there's anything at all we can do to help, please do get in touch with us.

We hope to work with Linus again some day, but we need to first make up for what happened with Synergy 2 (we made a mistake and released too early before it was ready). Yes, we're back to maintaining Synergy 1 while working on the next major version (the version on sale right now is Synergy 1, and Synergy 2 is no longer in development). Once the next major version is ready for public use (we anticipate around 2023), it will be released to general sale. All Synergy 2 customers will be upgraded for free, all lifetime customers (anyone who purchased before November 2017) will also benefit from the free upgrade, and of course, anyone who purchased early access will get it. This free upgrade covers over 85% of our current customer base. After we release the next major version, we intend on maintaining Synergy 1 for a further two years to provide critical fixes and security updates. We had planned to release a super-early-alpha of the next major version in Q1 this year, but we're a little behind schedule (and we're now looking at having an alpha ready for Q2). We’ll be sharing information about how to get access to the upcoming alpha soon. We expect to spend at least three years developing the final version. We don’t want make the same mistake again of releasing before it’s ready. @tnings We hope you choose Synergy. Please let us know if you have any questions.

  10. One approach could be to use an optical audio cable (S/PDIF or TOSLINK) from Mac to PC. Enable "Listen to this device" in sound settings (which mixes in the audio from the Mac) and use the PC's sound as the primary output. p.s. Thanks for considering Synergy.   11. Hi there, thanks for tagging us. Microsoft released an API update that broke the file drag and drop feature (however, it still works from macOS to macOS). We have been trying to fix this, but it's taking longer than we expected. We are planning to remove the feature advertisement from our website since the fix could be a few months away. We really appreciate that this is really frustrating, especially if you bought the product for that particular feature. Normally we only issue refunds within 30 days of purchase, but in this instance, we are certainly happy to give you a refund if your purchase was more than 30 days ago.   12. Thanks to everyone for their feedback. We really appreciate the time you have taken to share your experience with Synergy 2 Beta. We decided to take this version back to beta and make Synergy 1 the recommended stable version. With the recent organizational changes, we realized that we needed a fresh start. Synergy 2.0 Beta does not have the potential we thought it would have, so it will be replaced by a new design. We're pleased to announce that an early alpha for the next major version of Synergy will be available late 2019. All Synergy 2 license holders, early access customers, and lifetime access members (pre-Nov 2017) will have free access to the next version. We'll be maintaining Synergy 1 until the next version is ready for public release in two to three years time. The next major version of Synergy is currently in development and aims to address the issues mentioned in this thread by greatly improving stability, adding significant configurability, and by having a total UX/UI redesign (we're actually using a completely different technology stack). Rest assured, this new version will look and feel nothing like Synergy 2 Beta, and it'll have all the best bits from Synergy 1. We have learned a lot of very important lessons from Synergy 2 Beta, and this will help us to not repeat the mistakes in the next version. Thanks to all those who stuck with us so far, we really appreciate the support.
  13. Hey Tonmoy, we're really sorry to hear that you didn't manage to get Synergy working. It's probably a simple config fix, and we'd love to see if we can help you. Usually, it's really easy to tell from the logs. It looks like you opened a support ticket and got a refund already, but it seems that you didn't attach any logs. Would you mind sending us your logs?

  15. Hey there, some VPN clients do block out local network traffic for security. This can cause issues for Synergy users since a LAN connection is required. You can sometimes ask your sysadmin to disable the LAN blocking feature, but quite often corporate policy doesn't allow it. If you can ping other computers on your LAN while the VPN is active, then Synergy should work. If you have any other questions or if there's anything I can do to help, please let me know!
