JakeNTech reacted to Lady Fitzgerald in Cloning two different drives?
I recommend Macrium Reflect Free.

JakeNTech reacted to Windows7ge in Does HDD brand really matter?
What's important is the quality of the components the manufacturer used to build it. I like Western Digital. A lot of people like Seagate. Of the people I've seen talking about it everybody seems to hate Toshiba.
Just read the reviews for what fits your budget.

Mac OS X Tiger, Leopard and Snow Leopard only comes in a DVD installer. You can try finding installation discs online. Try eBay.

JakeNTech reacted to FoxPro in Mac Recovery Errors(Disk Utility + Terminal)
If I recall, you are root in recovery mode so there’s no need to use sudo, as you already are the most privileged user on the system.
For Disk Utility, you can try the terminal version of it, “diskutil”. I’ve had problems with the not enough space error, and trying to erase using diskutil had much more success. I also assume you’re using macOS Internet Recovery, because wiping the drive would remove the original recovery partition on the disk.
That’s all I can suggest now, let me know how it goes and I’ll see where we can go from there

JakeNTech reacted to Lurick in Mineral oil in a custom loop?
No, that's a terrible idea and will almost certainly kill the pump, if not everything else. It won't corrode any of the metals, it will be a nightmare to clean, and it will destroy any rubber seals in the loop meaning you'll have to replace those before doing it.
Mineral oil cannot quickly transfer heat but can absorb it quickly so it will heat up and kill the pump that way as well. Additionally, it cannot easily flow through the micro-channels the same way that water can which will increase head pressure causing the pump to die out faster.

JakeNTech got a reaction from da_knug in Freezing and loud buzzing sound followed by shutdown and restart.
Try dialling back the overclock until it's stable. I would also guess that temperatures are involved too.

JakeNTech reacted to GoodBytes in Error when ugrade to window 10 via window media creation tool
Cancel, Uninstall your anti-virus (including Microsoft Security Essentials. In any case it is built-in in Windows 10) and any security software you have installed.
Make sure all your drivers are fully updated (Windows 7 drivers). this includes printer drivers (or unplug it), sound, and motherboard chipset.
Once done, restart the system, and try again.
If that fails, then insert a USB Flash drive, and pick in Media Creation tools "For another PC", let it do it's thing. Once done, restart and boot from your USB flash drive, pick the language, hit Install, and pick Upgrade.
P.S: If you have not done so, I would backup your data before starting anything. If it fails, you want your important data (pictures, documents, etc.)
Installing or upgrade Windows is taxing on the system, and failure an occur from bad luck. Better be safe than sorry, even though it not common.

JakeNTech reacted to FoxPro in Mac os Journaling problem
That's the boot drive. You can't format the system drive while the system is running. You'll need to get a macOS install USB and format the drive from there.

JakeNTech got a reaction from 1cto in Mouse and Keyboard suddenly dies on windows 10 login screen
The only things that can be suggested then are:
1- Use a windows installer to get into safe mode.
2- Reinstall Windows
3- Use a different keyboard and mouse to log in and then reinstall drivers and re boot, if you have the same issue enable automatic login on windows.

JakeNTech reacted to Ashley MLP Fangirl in racing game benchmarks in LTT video's?
i would like to see some more racing games benchmarked in GPU reviews, since that's basically the only thing i play.
also, is there a reason racing games aren't in the benchmarks on LTT?

JakeNTech reacted to SilverSoul in Gaming on my MacBook Pro?...
Lightweight games would run perfectly fine on any slow pc, just watch your temps and use an external cooler if it hits above 90 degrees.

I have heard that tweetbot is good, although I refuse to pay for something that can be done by just using the website.

JakeNTech reacted to knightslugger in Question regarding tp link repeaters
not likely. repeaters don't really work THAT WELL. You'd be better off buying powerline adapters that have their own Wifi AP.

JakeNTech reacted to FoxPro in MacBook fan curve
There’s apps to fix this, I use Macs Fan Control for my MacBook and it keeps it at 70C the absolute highest, with the fans at their full 6200RPM, My curve is around 35C to start ramping the fans up, and max out at 70C. Still not the best to have that on your lap, but it’s better than boiling water.
Here’s the link, they also have a Boot Camp version for windows.

JakeNTech reacted to DrMacintosh in I partitioned my ssd for bootcamp
Select the partition and format it as APFS and hold cmd to expand the macOS partition.
Bootcamp will handle the partitioning, don’t mess with Disk utility when it comes to Bootcamp.

Pro versions are for the commercial market like intel vPro cpu's.
They have functions that aren't relevant for the average user.
An R5 1500 actually doesn't exist, there's only the 1400 and 1500x

JakeNTech got a reaction from DonDerrick in MicroSD Card Unexpectedly Removed
The first thing I would suggest to do is back up your stuff. SD cards aren't very reliable and don't tend to have the longest life span. I might want to try the card in another phone or tablet to see if i have the same issue.
I would also think about getting a new card.
