Ok thanks, Was a bit confused because PCPP was say a header adapter may be required but nothing concrete.

Hi peoples of the internets. I know i asked this already but i got 0 responses so i fear it fell down the internet void Struggling to find a clear answer on google (keeps giving me articles for adapters). The Motherboard i am looking to get (ASRock Z790 Riptide) has a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Header and a USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 header. The case (Montech King 95 Pro) has 2 USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type A and a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type c connector. From what i can find, the 2 Gen 1 type As will run of a single header on the motherboard. My main concern is, will i be able to plug the Gen 2 type c into the Gen 2x2 header on the motherboard (Running at Gen 2 speeds of course) Or will i need an adapter to convert the gen 2x2 into a gen 2 header. Thank

Do you have any Overclocks applied to the CPU or GPU? They could potentially be making the system unstable

Minor Bump as i feel i may have posted whilst all the experts were asleep lol. Damn living on the other side of the world haha

Before you jump the gun, Check that you don't have any friends or family that could possibly lend you a PSU to test with. Alternativley could always check if a PC servicer near you can have a look at it. Might be cheaper than buying a PSU if it turns out not to be the problem Additionally might be worth investing in a surge protected powerboard for future scenarios.

If there was a lightning strike it is possible that there was a surge. Hopefully your PSU managed to prevent it passing through the entire PC. Do you have another PSU you could test with to check?

what would you consider a basic pc in 2024?

I misread, I though he was asking for our opinions. not factual lol. Yes 8gb is most listed as minimum. -

johnno124 replied to okkee's topic in General Discussion
Id personally say that 16gb is minimum nowadays, given that game textures are getting much higher even at 1080p. -
Does the PC boot normally or fail to boot?.
-
Just double check that it has been properly tightened down as well. Might be making poor contact with the IHS on the CPU. Also make sure both the Fans and the Water pump are plugged in the correct ports on the MB
-
Can you give us specs too help. CPU, MB, GPU PSU etc
-
Ive heard that Windows doesn't actually shut down when you select that but rather goes into a very low level hibernation with out saving the user interface. Part of the Fast Boot stuff, a Restart completly rebuilds hence why it would be working fine after that. Try disabling fast boot and see if that makes a difference.

GPU not recognized in Windows Device Manager Display Adapters
johnno124 replied to lawmitchell2024's topic in Graphics Cards
Its more just to test if there is an PSU issue. What wattage is it? If you get a image with this PSU then we can say that the other one has dud PCie connections and we know what to replace. Don't try to run intesive tasks if the wattage is too low. -

Do you have a spare PSU you could test with, Im wondering if the PSU itselft might be the issue now. If its not the PSU then im afraid i have no more options as this is the limit of my knowledge.
