  1. Another thing I would try is to change your DNS servers from your ISP if it is set to them to a public one like googles or cloudflares. More than once I have run into outdated records that have caused me huge headaches.
  2. Google home is good if you want a decent pane of glass and a simple setup. Straying into anything like port forwarding and firewall rules and this platform becomes a deal breaker. If you need more advanced setup I would take a look at PFSense as it can do pretty much whatever you need it to do.
  3. So you would suggest running 2 cables instead of one for the TV and VR headset? I could do that, do you have a suggestion for a USB C dock? I have to run about 80+ feet so I was going to try for usb C over fiber unless running straight fiber is a possibility for docks?
  4. Cmoon! It's a *shuffles some papers* browser meant for those who game! Built with all the best stuff that only gamers can appreciate like dark mode and built in spotify/discord/random other platforms! But in all reality it seems pretty decent if a bit gimicky. I have not tested it out myself but a friend seems to love it. And if the resource throttle works as its advertised I can see the appeal.
  5. It's been a while so they could have fixed it with newer revisions. But I thought the backplane on the UDM Pro couldn't actually handle true 10gbps?
  6. Perhaps a DNS issue? Is your provider/router/sysadmin blocking those sites? Can those sites be accessed from another computer? Try a trace route and see if it finishes? (tracert steampowered.com). Check to make sure you have valid DNS setting on your computer (ipconfig /all) Look for DNS servers and see if its pointed at a public server such as 8.8.8.8 or 1.1.1.1 or a local DNS server such as your router. If pointed at your router, confirm that your router is pointing to a public address. If your internet connection is DHCP then it is most likely a DNS server from your ISP, try changing it to google or Cloudflares and see if it makes a difference.
  7. Hey all! I got a weird question for you! Does anyone know a good hub or dock that I can use with USB-C over Fiber? I am looking to game in VR in my living room with my computer in another room. My current plan is to duplicate the display on my computer to the TV as well as link my Quest 2 through the hub but I don't know which would be a good choice. Thanks!
  8. LHR is Lite Hash Rate (anti mining) OC is just that the manufacturer has factory overclocked the card from baseline V2 could be Version 2? Or it could just be marketing fluff trying to make the card sound fancier / newer.
  9. The enduser should not be forced. Manufacturers should most certainly be forced to. My gut feeling is that either: A. Microsoft told basically no one about this change of standards B. Manufacturers decided to skimp as it was not necessary until now to have the requirements. Perhaps a little of A and a little of B? The nagging cynic in me keeps thinking they did it to get more $$ from those home and pro licenses, as well as data collection by forcing everyone getting new computers to sign into a Microsoft account to use their computer.
  10. If it has some drive bays, you could slap Truenas or another such platform on it and make into your network storage.
  11. That is what I am hoping, a couple of people over on reddit say they work at Intel and are going to see who they can ping to find out what is going on.
  12. It is truly unfortunate, it makes it even more aggravating they they just closed it and have not responded. Make me think that it will go away, but I am hoping this will reach someone at Intel that can help rectify this issue.
  13. My thought exactly, I have replaced PDF's with pictures for your browsing pleasure.
  14. Not sure if that will be needed. The tech in emails and chats admitted the SSD was showed as delivered by UPS and that it was lost in the shipping/receiving department. They had escalated it with UPS and UPS confirmed it was delivered. ON the Asus note, I also have to send back my Asus Crosshair VIII X570 Dark Hero motherboard and I had issues with that also, but unlike Intel, the tech called me and had to reissue the RMA and gave me free expedited shipping for my troubles. overall Asus has impressed me.
