Thanks everyone for the replies, from what has been said I think I'll go for it but is there anything else I didn't take into account? -

zdemigod replied to zdemigod's topic in Graphics Cards
Yep I did have that happen around my house, but my Surge protector died so I assumed my PC would be safe, seems I was wrong, but well warranty exists for a reason (and why I want it for this GPU lol) But its a bigger change that I initially anticipated so im pretty scared -

Its the 850w Bronze BQ, I have a seasonic focus 850w platinum that I will be doing warranty on cuz for some reason it decided to stop working... but I will be using my EVGA for a while until that gets fixed, if it ever does. -
Hello everyone, I recently made a post about either getting a 4080 or a 7900XTX, the AMD seller lowered its price a bit and now both are around the same price. $877 USD for the AMD card and $930 USD for the NVIDIA one. The NVIDIA one is a used Dell model which after investigating (Gamers nexus rtx 4090 video) seems to be just fine, but the AMD is brand new with warranty (well its 2nd hand, but he never registered it, so I will be handling warranty through him). The model is the XFX Speedster MERC310 I thought at this point it's probably a better idea to go with the AMD, but I am hesitant since I've been an NVIDIA user all my life So here are my questions/concerns I know ill lose DLSS and RTX, I never use RTX and never will, I care about high fps too much, I know DLSS frame gen is usually better than the AMD equivalent, but it's been a while and information is messy, I assume this is still true? does FSR work well or at all? I know the XTX has a higher wattage load, will it be a problem for an EVGA 850w bronze BQ? pcpartpicker says its fine Anyone has experience with ReLive? I don't stream, but I like to record my gameplay and specially use the retroactive recording shadow play has, I assume Relive has a similar thing? I saw videos of it having instant replay, I assume it works similarly to Nvidias How does ReLive handles HDR? Is there no support? How does the AMD card handles VRR on TVs like the LG OLED I have used RTX voice, I don't think AMD has any equivalent Performance is around the same for both cards right? Is there anything else I have missed that I will lose? Any other concerns or pain points?

No, the PNY one is 150-200 USD, the 7900XTX and the Dell one are the same price

It for sure looks the same lol

Hey everyone, I am planning to upgrade my GPU and this time to avoid some import taxes I'm going to attempt to buy it locally in my area. However, the only options available for my intended range are the Dell OEM 4080, which since it's an OEM card it's by default used, a PNY, the RGB version at 150-200 USD more or a 7900XTX around the same price as the Dell 4080. I have not heard much about the Dell 4080 after googling about it, and from my research the 4080 and 7900 XTX are basically equal except in RT where Nvidia wins but idc about RT. I am still more comfy on Nvidia software and I use shadowplay very often, I have never owned an AMD GPU before What do you guys think? Is the Dell OEM a safe choice? Or go for one of the other two? Ps. Because I'm not American, so I'm not easily getting warranty on any of these so that's not super relevant to this purchase, but I assume the PNY and AMD cards are new, and the Dell not.

Hello, I'll be upgrading the core of my PC (ram, cpu, mobo) to AM5. I've done a bit of research and it seems for the most part the x670 mobo is not really worth it at the high prices, however Newegg has a combo deal going on right now, These are the pieces I have mostly landed on, these are in USD location and prices: * 7800x3d for $340 (it's -30 due to combo) * Gigabyte x670 Gaming X AX V2 at $180 (-30 due to combo) * Team T-force delta 3200 32 GB 6000 CL30 at $99 (-10 due to combo) Total $663 My current pieces that I already own are: * Nvidia Asus strix rtx 3080 12gb * Seasonic focus 850w plat What do you guys think, worth it? My reason for upgrading is that my current mobo has a dead Gpu slot and broken RGB pins so I thought instead of buying a new mobo I might as well platform upgrade now

Hello everyone, I have no idea why it's happening, it has never happened before, and i did not install any new piece of software as far as I'm aware off, it's low-key driving me insane lol. What is happening: It's randomly muting and unmuting itself, it usually goes from unmuted into muted and stays there, but sometimes it quickly moves back and forth, mute, unmute, mute and unmute again In very quick succession, it can not happen for hours, but then it comes back and consistently annoy me for a few more hours. This is the windows volume not any specific app. What I've tried: I have tried uninstalling the audio drivers and restarting so they auto install again, it still happens. I tried to uninstall razer synapse in case it was my keyboard having a seizure, did not help (I have razer keyboard) Uninstalled iCue in case it was my mouse having a seizure, did not help (corsair mouse) Hardware/Software info: I am using passive speakers plugged to the back of mobo using an audio jack Micca RB42 in 2.0 setup Motherboard is a gigabyte x570 aorus elite Wi-Fi I am on Windows 10 using Atlas I am actually not sure what other information related to this is needed since I have no idea what is causing it, any help is greatly appreciated before I lose my mind by talking over other people during my Zoom meetings because the meeting gets auto muted.... again.

This seems to not be advertised anywhere, or part of any spec, it's been so hard trying to find this information of X or Y monitor. I'm currently interested in the Gigabyte M27U, but Ideally I would like to know if there is a resource I'm missing somewhere that holds this info for different monitors.

Question about motherboards and bricked phones
zdemigod replied to zdemigod's topic in Troubleshooting
Its a oneplus 8 pro This is what I was thinking of buying: https://www.ebay.com/itm/266485030957?_trkparms=amclksrc%3DITM%26aid%3D777008%26algo%3DPERSONAL.TOPIC%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20230811123856%26meid%3Df81cbdd39e1e4c50aa400ff43daa471e%26pid%3D101770%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26itm%3D266485030957%26pmt%3D0%26noa%3D1%26pg%3D4375194%26algv%3DRecentlyViewedItemsV2%26brand%3DOnePlus&_trksid=p4375194.c101770.m146925&_trkparms=parentrq%3Af7a5202918b0ac1d5b263598ffffd27a|pageci%3Ab5cc6e1b-894b-11ee-9300-224bffd943d3|iid%3A1|vlpname%3Avlp_homepage -
Hello everyone, I bricked my phone by being dumb while trying to flash a new firmware, must have been the wrong region or something else, anyways I went to a repair shop, and they said it was dead. It doesn't boot to recovery or anything. If I buy a working motherboard and replace it, would the phone work? Or would bricking damage other parts as well, and I shouldn't even bother trying to replace the motherboard Phone: Oneplus 8 Pro

Hello everyone, Control my Monitor is a great app from Nirsoft https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/control_my_monitor.html that I use quickly switch with a mouse click inputs of a monitor from my two computers (one is for work). I plan to buy The INNOCN 27M2V most likely, but if anyone owns this monitor and wants to do me a solid can you download the app and check the highlighted line in the images below? The LG has 0 as the current value because it's undetectable, meanwhile my other Asus monitor has the assigned value of 15. I just want to see if your monitor shows up as zero as well.
-
Ill make a separate post to see if anyone can help to verify the control my monitor situation, as unlikely as that will be.

Hello everyone, after researching a bit I am between three choices. LG 27GP950-B: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B094RWMN8K/?coliid=I1DM5GPJK14WAJ&colid=1513VDSGP8NWU&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1 INNOCN 27M2V: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BCK1Z5FD/?coliid=I142DPV5GFBIOJ&colid=1513VDSGP8NWU&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it&th=1 Gigabyte M28U: https://www.newegg.com/p/N82E16824012040?Item=N82E16824012040 These all seem pretty good, from what I read It seems the INNOCN has a better picture quality versus the LG and both are better than the gigabyte, both the LG and INNOCN are at $600 USD while the Gigabyte is a bit cheaper at $450 USD, I am interested in the Gigabyte KVM, and I am afraid of the LG because I currently own an ultra gear and I have a monitor switching setup using the "control my monitor" Windows app, but LG ultra gear seems to not be compatible with it (my other Asus monitor works perfectly) I'm thinking of going for the INNOCN, any thoughts one way or another from you guys? Do you guys think the quality issues are grave enough to not warrant the risk? Anyone owns any of these or any other thoughts?

Hello everyone, I am using PopOS, pretty new to Linux in general. For multi monitor, windows has more settings, things like second screen only, main display only, etc. I have 4 displays and I always wanted to be able to create custom profiles like I want screens 123 only as a setting since those are Computer monitors and then a second "only 4" option because that's my big TV. Is that at all possible in Pop OS? if not can I at least add the "second monitor" option which turns off all displays except a specific one? Also when I use shift + P to activate a profile it seems to reset all my custom settings I have done like resolution and frame rate, something windows remembers, can that be changed as well?

Help formatting drive to install Linux distro
zdemigod replied to zdemigod's topic in Troubleshooting
I got this idea as well and tried it and it worked, not sure why the automatic partition options were only available for GPT but not for MBR, but I wont question it, if it works it works lol. -

Would disconnecting all other drives really add automatic partitioning as an option for the drive I want? that doesn't sound like that's what the issue is. -
Help formatting drive to install Linux distro
zdemigod replied to zdemigod's topic in Troubleshooting
Erase disk is only showing on the drive windows is at, not the drive I want to install linux to, as I said up there, the last image is showing that the drive I do want linux at only has "manual partitioning" as the available option -
Hello everyone, a lot of people have said linux has gotten much better since my last attempt as a desktop experience so I wanted to give it another try, I mostly game so after asking around Nobara seems to be a fairly popular gaming oriented linux distro so I went for it, it had instructions to flash the drive and I arrived at the installation wizard. My current issue is with the disk, i have a bunch of drives on my PC but I emptied (formatted) one of them to use as the drive for this. When I first select my drive it has some partitions created but what usually do when I install windows is to just delete all the partitions and just use the empty space But the next button stays disabled, no matter what I try here i have no idea how to enable it, I tried making a new partition with that empty space and its still disabled I have no idea how to proceed and there are no instructions that I've found for Nobara, I was getting a bit frustrated after playing around with the options so I opted to just ask here. Any help is appreciated. My nvme main drive (windows) Is GPT formatted and has more options available, it might be related to this? but I didnt want to keep poking around and accidentally screw something up.
