  1. Too bad this device doesn't support Russian, so Ivan wasn't needed to be involved. As for the product, those holders with shared charging are pretty cool. Little bit clunky, but it would be awesome to see similar system for earbuds from other manufacturers. (But I haven't checked, how earpods are being charged, so it might the copy of that system)
  2. I hate when scammers just want to bate me. I've just got a missed called from Burundi (+257 prefix). I was near my phone so I could hear that it was a really short call attempt.

After googling it's apparent, it's premium number. If I called back, I would have been charged with lots of money. :(

  3. I would say it will work, only the mouse won't be charging. The "pad" part of mousepad is for charging, the receiver for data transfer although is hidden in the mouse pad (probably near the USB connector) should work at the same range as the usual USB dongle. Yes, but probably to save cost it's the same dongle just in a different form and the charging part is the new technology.
  4. I was a bit confused about what Linus said around 7:45 about old radio receivers and I had to do some searching to clarify for me. That's what I came up with: I think he meant that this mousepad uses electromagnetic waves for charging (radio signals) and not electromagnetic induction (transformers, induction stove and other wireless charging standards). Those old crystals are diodes, they just happened to be in the form of small Germanium crystals. AM radio transmitters have(d) lots of power (I know about one which power output is 2MW and during wet weather nearby cabbage leaves were rumored to play the radio station ), Also, old crystal radios had only headphones, which didn't require much power. BTW the real comment I wanted to say: it seems Linus is just signing the checks for LMG, but the real boss is Edzel :D.
  5. I tried to create a new Storage pool / space and it doesn't see my USB flash drive. However, it sees the USB hard drive, which is even protected with BitLocker. It's the same as with creating dynamic disk in Disk Management. So, I presume Windows checks the Removable Bit Flag even for Storage Space and in the background these technologies shares same components.
  6. I was disappointed that the video mentions 8-bit guy's video, but doesn't mention - what is in my opinion a master piece in this topic - the video made by Sun engineers (from times before they were acquired by Oracle) to promote the ZFS file system. They used 12 USB drives, which could be removed and reinserted in arbitrary order. Just search for CSI:Munich for the German version, but I swear there is somewhere the English version :).
  7. I'm confused, that nobody mentioned that the build guide didn't mention thermal paste (and didn't show applying it). Maybe everybody was blinded by the RGB lights or I'm the one who is blind If I'm not completely blind, I'm certainly deaf, because he mentioned it. BTW, is it possible to delete similarly embarrassing comments?
  8. I found a reddit post, where the OP mentions, that IBM Model Ms have 2 key rollover limitation. So, I would say it was nothing wrong with your keyboard. It's just the way it was designed. After our conversation I really should get somewhere one of these keyboards. I usually type on notebook and after trying out some cheap membrane keyboards I always returned to the notebook ones. At least, I have a Lenovo one, maybe I can still taste some of that IBM blood
  9. I was browsing some old Dilbert strips and these three caught my attention:

    Dilbert buys video phone http://dilbert.com/strip/1992-06-01

Dogbert reveals the secret of diamond industry http://dilbert.com/strip/1992-07-12

    Dilbert goes hi-tech: http://dilbert.com/strip/1992-12-29

  10. Since I posted my comment I checked Wikipedia, so I'm now professional in this area . The wiki article mentioned, that USB HID actually supports NKRO, but not during the boot (boot protocol vs. report protocol). So it seems, that the Reddit comment in the video was partially wrong, because as you wrote, the keyboard controller has to support this feature and it can work with both USB and PS/2. It's interesting to see your comment, I think this is the first time ever somebody had encountered an issue with the Model M keyboard. Unfortunately, I couldn't experience it myself, so I have no own opinion. My first keyboard was a standard keyboard for a Siemens-Nixdorf PC with Pentium processor, which also had PS/2 connection and as I remember it couldn't handle too much multiple keystrokes. So it seems as for everything in IT, we can say: "It depends"
  11. I liked the information about n-key rollover. However, I'm a bit confused, because I used to hear angry beeps when I smashed to many keys at once on my old notebook which had internally PS/2 keyboards.
  12. Are those files on removable storage? Drive letter might have changed when you plugged it again to the computer.
  13. I felt a bit sorry for that guy in the parking lot with the pickup truck, but he was happy in the end and actually he was really nice . Probably he would agree for showing his face, but I understand, that this is more about protecting yourself of being sued by somebody who changes his mind.
  14. I usually watch every LTT video, but this had so special thumbnail, that I deliberately didn't watch it. I usually appreciate LTT videos, because even the topics I find less interesting are really nicely done. However, this time the thumbnail was simply disgusting. Also this thumbnail seems to be going against what Linus said in the last Q&A video, where he said you might tune these thumbnails a little bit back. However, I'm just one guy, who counts nearly nothing to your revenue. Still loving your work and actually hope these pictures help you to grow. But I really had to say that this one looks like Linus vomiting out a case fan .
