my server is not quite set up in a "clouset" but rather a small nook with pretty much zero airflow. as long as the air has a way out (which, if your carpenter told you the doors on your clouset make a perfect seal someone needs to get him off the LSD) any air you blow in is basicly air displacement.

with my server on a decent load i noticed that it got rather toasty in the "nook", all of which was solved by just putting one airflow fan to blow air in there.
(got a fractal design venturi because yolo, its running at 3 volts, and its still doing plenty for me.)

Gotcha, thanks for that info i'll definitely do some more research on all this since I do plan on eventually setting up a server and nas as well, Thank you so much for this though.

that would not work at all
it is WAY too hot and concentrated
you need to use a heat gun

I would go with Rigid cooling.

And as for a case, in the future cases are 2 things,
    1. How you want it to look
    2. Will all my parts fit with good managed cables
Some people assume you just list newegg by most expensive parts first and that's the best you can get. Don't fall into that trap!

I totally agree, and last time it was a huge frustrating thing when I built my last PC, and the tempered glass case is just going to make it harder to hide those cables, but this time i'm set on cable management. A semi modular might be nice to make things a bit easier but yeah. I will definitely spend a lot time on bending. I probably will actually buy a small set of pegt tubing just to practice with.

Your best bet may be to paint it, since the only white rad that I currently know of would be the Monsta 80mm thick rad from Alphacool.

So in total, you would have:
One RAID 0 array (Two SSDs for gaming)
One RAID 1 array (Two HDDs for assets)
One RAID 1 array (Two SSDs for OS / actual production software)

Personally, I say if you have enough ports on the motherboard, I would say to stick with the onboard RAID. RAID0 and RAID1 are the easiest RAIDs to run performance wise. The parity based arrays like RAID5 or 6 are where you might consider a hardware RAID. However, the array you have is quite small (even if there's three of them). The other thing is that a new decent hardware RAID controller with a oncard battery backup would probably cost more than your drives at the moment (Roughly $500-700).

Also, do note that hardware RAID controllers are enterprise grade. They don't care how they look. They all feature green PCBs, black SAS connectors, and usually a gray / silver heatsink. They're meant to be put inside of enterprise servers or towers where no one really cares how they look, so you're kind of out of luck there anyway.

Finally, if you do software RAID, you want to get a good decent UPS for the computer. If you have too many blackouts, you risk the RAID0 array corrupting (or writing corrupted data to the RAID1 array). Also, if you don't already have the SSDs already and the computer supports it, maybe consider a NVMe drive for the OS / production software? They're much faster than a two disk RAID0 array.

no dont paint, most paints are too thick and will cause a large performance drop

performance PCs sells a ton of white radiators, some with painted fins and some without
    http://www.performance-pcs.com/radiators/shopby/color--white/
the black ice rads are the best

if possible, go with just the painted shroud instead of the painted fins

Thanks for these answers guys, i'll take a look and the fins should be pretty well hidden, so it doesnt really matter but yeah I feel a bit more comfortable with the prepainted.

Ah, yeah, my house has a pretty old transformer on the pole so when it rains hard here we lose power pretty much...

It's a bit more complicated than that. You have to figure out how much wattage your PC uses on average (unless you have your PC under load constantly), figure out what is a acceptable run time to you. This Eaton video helps to explain VA:

You can kind of guess a UPS model by using Eaton's calculator:

As far as I know, the sticker is just a sticker. However, I would make sure the drive works well for a bit before removing it (In case you need to RMA)

Yeah thanks for that, i'll definitely keep that in mind for future projects but I had no plan to paint the fins, like before they'll be well hidden  I'll go with already painted since I'm sure I wouldn't do as great of a job.

Nothin hurt mang, sall gud. I understand those questions are pretty annoying but I really just wanted the knowledge, the 8350 is fine for lower end builds and intel for higher end. I came here understanding how each one compares to the other but not the science or information or whatever behind why.
