  1. I'd also add: - cross-platform compatibility for NET core - a syntax succint enough to avoid writing code monsters while at the same time managing to stay readable; - a naming convention that actually makes sense; - intellisense in visual studio is amazing. If you've ever written c++ in visual studio, you have a vague idea of what I'm talking about. Except that c#'s intellisense is ten times more awesome.
  2. Frankly, the only answer I think is appropriate when people ask what programming language should they learn first is "learn programming first, the choice of language comes second". What I mean by that is that no matter what language you choose, if you don't understand the logic behind, you won't get very far. Imho a good approach would be picking one (or all three, if you're feeling adventurous) and starting writing (not copy-pasting, writing) code and thinking about what that code does.
  3. I hit enter instead of the key above it, instead. And since the missing key is kinda important in the Italian layout (it's the less than/greater than symbol) I can't use ANSI keyboards with the command line.
  4. I'm currently in the middle of writing a guide on how to compare files on various operating systems and I suddenly realized that Spreadsheet Compare, one of the tools featured on this roundup, is only available with one of the three non-subscription versions of Office. Since I have no way of checking for myself, can someone with a Office 365 Home subscription confirm that their install includes this program? It should be located in the folder Office Tools in the Start Menu. Thanks in advance.
  5. Eh, I don't care about blanks or marked caps. I have a Das Keyboard M with the German layout I got for practically half the price and I'm from Italy. Once you're used to touch typing, what's on the keyboard doesn't actually matter. Except if it uses the ANSI layout. >.<
  6. The ninja might try to assassinate you. I'd stick with regular.
  7. The OP specifically said that he doesn't want a Fn key.
  8. Have you looked into the the Filco Majestouch Tenkeyless? It can be had for the low low price of one kidney and your firstborn.
  9. Jokes aside, if they're anything like the Noctua fan I have (model NF-A6x25), you probably installed them flipped. Unscrew them and turn them around so that the sticker faces toward the inside of the case.
  10. They're possessed by Satan. Your only option here is to call an exorcist.
  11. If Mint doesn't boot, I doubt Debian will. Debian release cycle is so slow, that they are most likely to be the last distro to implement a certain feature/bug fix. Ubuntu sounds like a better option: their 16.10 version was able to boot on a computer with a GTX 1060, whereas other distributions would refuse to, giving the usual "out of range" error.
  12. I agree with @rn8686. Using two different SSDs for the OS and programs isn't worth it in my opinion: you're better off just getting another 500 GB SSD for that.
  13. I'm currently researching backup methods for an article I'm writing where I compare how much the upkeep for each would cost. Among the devices I would like to compare is the DLT series, manufactured by Quantum. However, this device doesn't appear in their website's main menu, so this leads me to think they don't sell that line of products anymore. Does anyone have any info on this?
  14. Exactly. Most IoT devices are just curiosities and nothing more: they don't make the not-connected device less appealing because they don't improve what you were doing back when devices weren't connected.
