  1. I just found an old monitor laying around that I wanted to add to my setup. Currently, my GTX 1070 has both DVI and HDMI taken up, and only three display ports remain. The monitor I found is a Dell with only DVI and VGA, and some other connections such as composite. Since I can't connect the display to my GPU directly, I was trying to connect it to my motherboard, but forgot my CPU didn't have integrated graphics. Is there any way for me to connect to my GPU through my motherboard's DVI connection?
  2. Damn, didn't notice the link at first. Well, thanks for alerting me.
  3. I saw these chips had compatible sockets and had a crazy idea. I have an old Dell Latitude e6410 with an i7 640m. I saw that the i7 3540m has the same TDP and works in the same socket. I know that this idea is dumb and probably won't work, but I just wanted to verify with bigger brain individuals. Edit: Should specify, this isn't an "I want to upgrade my laptop because its bad" thing, this is a "I saw this might be possible and I have the means of attempting so"
  4. It was purchased online Thats what im worrying, really hoping its not. Might be, ill test that and get back to you
  5. Hey, I purchased an ASUS refurbished blower style GTX 1080 recently, and my system isn't showing it to me on device manager. I am unable to install any drivers. There is also no display coming from the GPU. The lights on the GPU are turning on and the fan is spinning. I have made sure that the GPU is properly inserted and that the power cables are plugged in properly.
  6. I just want to fucking change my lock screen, thats all im trying to fucking do, and you think I threw that together in a few fucking minutes? Want me to describe everything I have done to make my system unique to what I do? I have a media playback widget so I can see what song im listening to, who wrote it, how much time is left, and the sound it is producing, two clocks, one for my main monitor when im not gaming/doing any task on my main monitor and another for when im doing something, a disk monitor encase my storage is running low and I want to see how much I have left at a glance, a gpu monitor so I can check my thermals when Im playing games, a notepad to set reminders because of my faulty memory, and special icons for apps I use a lot, like Team Fortress 2, Discord, CS:GO, and Spotify. I have quick access to Atom so I can tinker with Python3 whenever I want, random images for making jokes with my friends, a quick access to my custom Team Fortress 2 server, and some apps I have not organized yet. I dont belong to any company and my parents have never touched this computer, this is my personal gaming rig and it has only been used by me and others under my supervision. I can send specialized screenshots of anything you ask if you really want me to. I just want to fucking get a custom megumin wallpaper for my lock screen.
  7. I sent you a fucking screenshot showing my personal wallpapers, modifications, and desktop apps along with the message saying that the settings were blocked. What more can you ask for?
  8. It is my personal computer, I can send screenshots if you would like.
  9. I dont trust any third party apps to manage things like that. If I want to edit something like who manages my computer, I will do that manually, and as far as I know I never gave anyone access to things like that. No, the only domain it is on is "Homegroup", which was default
  10. I am trying to customize my copy of Windows 10 Pro, but when going to the lock screen setting it says, "Some settings are hidden or managed by your organization." Only issue is, this is my computer, its owned by me not any organization. Can someone help me fix this? EDIT: Problem has been solved.
  11. oh... I have never heard of that argument...
  12. Hey, its got pretty much 0 latency lol
