  1. Assuming they didn't downgrade from the previous model, the 60hz cap shouldn't be there. I have the CHG90 (previous model) and I was able to do 120hz in PBP. I was running my computer one end and the xbox one x on the other both at 120hz. It was definitely a bit finicky, but it did work at 120hz. I do hope they've fixed some of the connection issues though. Across multiple systems I've had issues with booting and getting no display until I unplug the monitor and plug it back in or the HDR kicking on and off, however that only seems to be across DP and I feel like that might be more of a windows issue than a Samsung issue.
  2. I have a wide range of games that I play, but with my current build I'm very limited. The newest intensive game I can play is GTAV at lowest settings with shadows removed. But I plan to play stuff like Doom or GTA V at higher settings lol, or just newer games in general. I just wasn't sure if throwing all of this money towards a new build would be worth it if I could just throw a new card and maybe more RAM in my old build. Also thanks, employee at Fry's started going off about how my budget build is just bad and how I wouldn't get any airflow in that case and was trying to tell me to essentially ignore my budget and go for tons of high end parts that I couldn't afford one of... Lowkey, think he was just an Intel fanboy or trying to get me to spend more, not that there is anything wrong with Intel, just out of my price range. I overall just felt insulted especially being on my birthday.
  3. So I already made another post on planning an RX 480 budget birthday build. And after some planning and dealing with a jerky smarta** from Fry's, I had a thought. What if I just throw the card in my current system? As my new build would be a budget build, I'm choosing to go with cheaper lesser parts that wouldn't quite utilize the full potential of the card. Would it not be equivalent if I just threw it in my old build and tested that? My current build is actually an old (8 years) pre-built with some upgrades. A gateway FX-6800-01e. Threw 12GB of RAM at it and then a 2TB hard drive. The power supply is a Cooler Master Silent Gold Pro 800w the current graphics card is a Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 1GB Toxic. The processer/motherboard is my biggest concern though. Being an i7-920 @ 2.67GHz. With the Gateway TBGM01 motherboard. If the board has the ports available and the PSU can more than support it. How much better/worse off would I be if I threw an RX 480 in this build rather than a new budget build ($600-$700)? Or much would performance change if I threw it in this vs the budget build? 4. I'd prefer ATX or something that would allow me to add a second 480 once I can afford it, other than that though the 600 build looks pretty decent. That could work.
  5. When adding the RX 480 to this, the price shoots up to around $830 ($250 8GB model). I heard that case is pretty good though, I might choose that one instead.
  6. I'd prefer to stick with the RX480 (Crossfire if I add another card) as far as the personal goes but that shouldn't make too much of a difference price wise anyways. That alternate is pretty good looking although if the motherboard and RAM were both white that would a little more smooth with the rest of the setup.
  7. So I'm working on building a Gaming rig for my birthday. My budget is around $600 with a little bit of flexibility and I'm currently looking at a system I threw together using PCPartpicker. http://pcpartpicker.com/list/v4Pwhq In picking these pieces I tried to keep in mind be able to upgrade in the future. (Future-proofing if your fancy) I'm currently looking at making sure there are no incompatibilities that I'm seeing and seeing if I could make improvements that either decrease the price or give me the most bang for my buck. This is mostly based around an RX 480, and keeping under max $700. Any help or input is much appreciated. -Thanks EDIT: I plan to put a second RX 480 in once I can afford it, so a 1060 is not an option.
  8. My current Rig has a Sapphire Radeon HD 4850 Toxic 1009MB... works surprisingly well... Just not on the newest games. I still get at least 50 frames in Overwatch... On lowest setting's with max filtering and antialiasing. (Message me if you want to know more about my rig)
  9. 60" at 4 feet is insane especially for a more mobile setup. I would love to do a ton of fun expiriments with one of these. And then after that use it for all around use. Like setting up a school club or even just watching livestreams while I game from my room. Even besides a giveaway I've been looking into getting a projector.
  10. I seem to be having a problem with my laptop... I have to bend the main part of the laptop (as opposed to the display) to be able to see anything. The backlight won't come on with out pressure to the middle. I believe this is a loose connection, for which I would need to open up the system. I want to check first with anyone else before I start shifting and breaking stuff. This started happening about 20 minutes prior to me posting this. The system is a Lenovo G505. I've only opened up the system for dusting and installing another stick of RAM, which I haven't done either of in quite a while. I got the system about in 2013 and it is no longer under warranty. I'm more or less looking for an exact part for either replacement or repair. Any ideas on what it may be and or/how to fix it?
