You are right not needing a X570, it's nut's the prices on the X570 line when you compare the same  price on older gen mobo features / Quality.
That said, get yourself one of the best AM4 mobos, the Taichi X470 can EASILY handle all the new CPUs as well it's packed with connectivity for a fair price.

    Hi,

i want to upgrade my rig to a Ryzen5 3600 and need a new Mainboard. I am looking for something in the 150€/170$ price segment. I was thinking of the MSI Gaming Plus MAX as it supports 2 M2 and has a lot of USB Ports. But i read that MSI is not recommended. Can someone give me some recommendations. Rest of the build with new and already owned parts (Case, PSU, CPU Cooler) currently looks like this:

    Never MSI.
I've had nothing but issues with their motherboards.
Their BIOS screens also tend to be a little behind everyone else's.

Not completely accurate as pc part picker is behind in listing new products like Enermax DF 650 gold psu. Not a complete or completely accurate list. Not really a budget build per say. Part were chosen for specific reasons. Should  make a decent 1440p gamer. The op is pushing more towards workstation gamer but can go cheaper and smaller if need be.

If everything about the two cards are the same (that is, warranty, ease of RMA, etc) then it boils down to personal preference. When it comes to AMD GPU's in my neck of the woods, and between these two, I'd go for PowerColor Red Devil series (have the VEGA64 Red Devil in my main PC) simply because Sapphire offers two years warranty here, whereas PC offers three years warranty.

They seem to be the best of the Navi crop indeed.
I would say they are pretty much matching, a tad better temperatures (not much) on the nitro where the Red Devil has way less agressive fan profile, meaning they are more quiet at the expense of a couple of degrees.
One word of advice, there's not much oc headroom on these cards, both Sapphire and PowerColor like the others it's all about the Asic quality above all.

SliceT got a reaction from SPARTAN VI in Which of these is the best aftermarket 5700 xt?
Actually it's not. It's PowerColor Red Devil. Check ComputerBase.de or Techpowerup.
I have a Red Devil and this thing is amazing, unlike Nitro which uses all plastic, the Red Devil has actually metal shroud.
To my pleasure, this card is most quiet card I ever had and the temps are amazing (70 on OC mode).
Another thing the Nitro has limited RGB, I feel like Red Devil has better looking RGB implementation, with the back logo and the side.. but this is obviously personal.

You can get an RX 570 8GB for $149.99 on Amazon brand new, it would pair well with the 2300X. However I would upgrade the PSU in that PC as well.

I would say the B450 Steel Legend is a good option, but does not have flashback bios, which means you might need to check with the shop if it has the latest bios and if not if they can flash it for you. Worked for me

did you know Asrock actually was part of Asus group?
Well they grew a lot these years and all because they been offering amazing motherboards and not charging the asus brand tax, which made asrock very popular as well amoung overclockers as they make really good overclocking mobos.

Thats right, Gigabyte cant even be compared at the same level, worst thermals, noise etc..
Red Devil and Nitro as the best, I would lean more to Red Devil, has better VRMs, cooling is about the same, Nitro is slightly cooler but a bit more noisier which means if they level the same noise you would probably have the same temps.

Asrock has a great build quality, as we already said in the original post you made about motherboards. For the warranty aspect, i don't really know how it works, so you may want to hear something from others before making the choice

Depends... If you just want a basic board. Then the cheapest opstion is Asrock Phantom Gaming 4S. No wifi. But have Intel I219V gigabit lan. No fancy sound card. Basic VRM. If you don't overclock it will not matter. About 100€.
