  1. @Streetguru - nah not going to be doing much gaming on it. might throw on starcraft and maybe some steam games but primarily for 3D work and rendering. Thanks for the build though! I'll take a look and see
  2. @MichaelGavel - oh wow thank you so much! I'll take a look but it seems like it's everything I'd want! I don't really care about what the case looks like, I just picked that one because it had a lot of good reviews haha
  3. @jj9987 - Good to know, thanks! I heard Xeon was good for 3D applications and rendering, do you think i7s are better? @narrdarr - Did you mean x79 lga 2011? And I was actually going to get an Nvidia Quadro K1200 since I wanted to focus on 3d applications and rendering. What do you think? I made a separate build thread if you'd like to take a look, definitely a WIP - build
  4. Hi there, working on my first build which will be a workstation! Mostly using 3D programs like Maya and Zbrush, as well as Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and some Aftereffects. My budget is $1000-$1500 so I'm not trying to get too crazy, just something reliable that will render relatively fast. PCPartPicker CPU: Intel Xeon E-2609 V2 Quad Core 2.5GHz (Amazon) Motherboard: Asus MAXIMUS VIII HERO ATX LGA1151 Motherboard Memory: G.Skill Ripjaws V Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory Storage: Samsung 850 EVO-Series 500GB 2.5" Solid State Drive GPU: Nvidia K1200 (Amazon) Case: NZXT S340 (Black/Red) ATX Mid Tower Case Power: Corsair CX 600W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-Modular ATX Power Supply I'm also very new to building and PC parts in general so if you have any suggestions or see that I missed anything feel free to let me know! Please help!
  5. First time builder here. Been lurking a while and finally wanted to pull the trigger on my new workstation. I'll mostly be using it for 3D programs like Maya and Zbrush and some light rendering. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with Intel Xeon CPUs and how they hold up. My budget is limited so I was thinking of getting the Xeon E5-2609 V2 (Amazon) This one is a bit older, released in '12 I believe, so I'm not sure how well it would hold up now or if it'd be worth getting. Please help!
