  1. So after being on all day, it's just 'locked up, so i had to restart to get things going again. My happiness/hope that this was fixed has been dashed. The floor is open to solutions again
  2. The car vbios version is 86.04.50.00.63. according to this website, that is the latest version? https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/?did=10DE-1B81-1043-8599
  3. I hadn't planned to. I've had enough stress updating bios/firmwares etc for one night. maybe later.. If i knew how to, i may consider it
  4. Hopefully, by fixing this issue, i have resolved the other. If i could give you an internet award, I would. Have a great day/weekend where ever you are. And have a drink on me, if that's your thing Cheers.
  5. Edit: a CPU fan error appeared, but I fixed this. Can now get into windows. Will reconnect other monitors. Thank you so much for your help. I was in full panic mode for a while there. Your help really means a lot to me, so thanks again.
  6. So potentially a good piece of news. I disconnected two of my monitors ( one that connects via display port, the other via HDMI) I can get into the bios on the third monitor (connected via HDMI) The code showing is A9 now. I can also see the is now the latest version. Next step, reset bios to default settings??
  7. So that didn't work. I also held the power button down to turn it off. Turning it back on, it is now showing 02 code. Also, the VGA light on the mobo is solid white and the boot light is yellow.
  8. Yep, it cycled through a few codes before being on code 64. To be clear, I can just press the restart button to see if that works first?
  9. I plugged the USB with the latest bios into the port labelled BIOS. Then went into the bios a ran the update tool. After a couple of minutes the progress bar was completed
  10. So I've gone ahead and installed the bios update via the drive. The code led has changed a few times, but for the last 10 minutes it's been stuck on code 64. Before that, it was on 02 (I think) for a few minutes before changing to code 64. Am I to leave this to sort its checks out, or can I remove the USB/press the restart button? No login page showing on the screen.
  11. Just installed the latest chipset drivers. Will sort the bios. got the drive ready to go.
  12. Hi, I've just run the uninstall tool, appears to have removed a few files etc. As to the BIOS, i am running version 1407, but according to the Asus website, the latest is version 4403. I'm a bit nervous to update the BIOS but i suppose it's worth doing in this case? As to the chipset drivers, i haven't updated those since i built the PC a couple years ago.
  13. Hi everyone, I’ve been running into this somewhat infrequent issue with my PC where it ‘soft locks’ essentially, and the only way to get the PC running fine is to hit the restart button. I hope you are able to suggest some things I can try to resolve this, so TIA. (Apologies for the long post ahead). System specs: CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 3700X Mobo: Asus X570 - E Gaming Ram: 32GB Corsair Vengence RBG Pro (4x8GB) GPU: Strix 1070 with the latest drivers M.2 boot drive Several additional SSD's for games etc Corsair AIO Corsair LL RBG fans Corsair Commander Pro The following is how I think the issue started, but open to other suggestions etc. A few months ago, I upgraded from GPU Tweak 2 to GPU Tweak 3. At the same time, I (foolishly) installed Armoury Crate, which is when the issues began to appear. Seemingly, at random, my PC would appear to soft lock. Visually, the pattern on my RGB fans would go back to the default colours that you see when it boots up (before getting into windows to load the pattern i selected). the taskbar clock would stop, but I would still be able to close windows/close out of steam etc, but i would not be able to shut the PC down via the start menu. The only way to get this running again (for weeks at a time too) is to click the reset button on my case. I went through uninstalling the software via the normal method which didn't seem to work (in terms of solving the issue). I also used the portable version of the Revo uninstaller to properly remove it, which 'has worked' compared to the first method. I've noticed also that the RGB on the ram works randomly, as in it either doesnt lit up or it gets stuck on partial colours. In Corsair iCUE, it tells me sometimes that "iCUE has stopped recieving data from DRAM. Please restart or power cycle your system to fix this problem". I have reinstalled iCUE several times, so im not sure it's the software that is causing the issue I have seen and watched several videos about the armoury crate software causing the issue i have run into, but this continues to be an occassional frustration. The only other thing i can say is that (i think) the armoury crate software installed a folder called PHISON which has a folder called Aac_PHISON HAL. i tried to delete the folder but i couldnt, but i was able to delete a file called Phison_x86.dll. A file called Phison_x64.dll is not able to be deleted. I'm not so sure about the PHISON folder, as the dll mentioned above has a modified date of 25/06/2021. Has me deleting the x86 version caused an issue? I'm open to all suggestions and am happy to provide additional info, should you need it. Thank you.
  14. Hi, I've run into an issue over the last several days that I think is related to some Asus software that I installed. After updating from Asus gpu tweak v2 to v3, I also installed the Asus armoury crate as well. Soon after I installed the Asus armoury crate software, I started having issues, including my PC soft locking up. After researching it a bit, I read that the armoury crate software installed rgb fusion which is known to cause issues. I've uninstalled the software through CCleaner and also using the Asus uninstaller. However, Once a day over the last 3 days I have had to restart my PC as it soft locks up for some reason. My Corsair fans go from the white I have set them to, to the default rainbow and all applications become unresponsive/very slow to do anything. None of these issues existed before updating to gpu tweak 3(which I don't think is the issue) and the armoury crate software. I'm open to all solutions of things to try. I just hope a reinstall of windows 10 is needed... Thank you.
  15. Hi, So this morning after booting my main PC on and connecting my 4 external drives which store my media on them, one of the drives is not showing up correctly/at all, but it was connected and working just fine yesterday. The drive is a 6TB WD My Book that no longer shows in windows explorer. After turning on the power, the following messages appear: "You need to format the disk in drive G: before you can use it. Do you want to format it?" when i click cancel (because it holds a large portion of my media collection), it says "G:\ is not accessible. The volume does not contain a recognised file system. Please make sure that all required file system drivers are loaded and that the volume is not corrupted". I've tried connecting it to each of the front panel USB3 ports, but get the same messages. I did connect this drive to my Laptop running Linux (Pop! OS), and the drive shows up and I can play the media files just fine. My 3 other external drives show up just fine, however they are connected to the USB ports on the motherboard directly. I can try the 6TB on those ports, but what are my options here? Thanks.
  16. I managed to find through the microsoft update catalogue. I'll install it and see how I go.
  17. When i say i dont want to reinstall, i should've said that it would be a last resort. Backing up game install (steam, uplay etc and reinstalling BF5) would be the main hassle. maybe i should bring forward the overhaul hardware updates forward. It's just baffling to me this whole situation.
  18. Hi everyone, For the past month, I've been having some significant issues trying to update my PC to the latest version on Windows 10. The current version I have installed is 1803. For a time, the windows updater was telling me that version 1903 was available to download, so i clicked download. The download would get as far as around 88% or so before failing. I can't remember what the error message was. Eventually the windows updater said that a feature update to 1909 was available, so i clicked download to get this update. This however failed like the attempt to install 1903. I attempted to use the Windows Update Assistant that was geared for installing version 1903 at the time. It recognized that i had 1803 and that 1903 was available to download. It went through its download procedure, and got all the way to rebooting several times and getting to 60% complete before the following message appeared “Windows could not configure one or more system components. To install Windows, restart the computer and then restart the installation”. I have tried several times, but the update failed at the same point each time. I gave it a break for a time as I read that version 1909 was being rolled out soon and waited for the Windows Update Assistant to be able to update to 1909. The exact same issue I experienced trying to install 1903 occurred with 1909. I have tried the various solutions both offered by Microsoft from here https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/10164/fix-windows-update-errors and through various google searches, but I am still stuck on 1803. This includes running the update troubleshooter, deleting the software distribution folder contents and rebooting. The built-in update troubleshooter tells me that there aren’t any issues with the update services etc, and now clicking on check for updates tells me that my PC is up to date and that there are no updates available. I have also tried installing the update via an in-place upgrade, but this fails also with an error message saying “0xC1900101 – 0x30018 The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP_SPECIALIZE operation”. Short of reinstalling Windows (which I don’t want to do), I’m out of ideas at this point, and look to be stuck on 1803. Any help/ideas welcome at this point. Thanks.
  19. stop the icue software and restart it
  20. I too am looking for others to play BFV with. I'll join the server. Note: I am in the Oceania region.
  21. Hi everyone, A weird issue has popped up on my monitor today. On the left side of my monitor, (Acer Predator XB270HU), a pinkish looking flicker has appeared, and then gone away. It first happened when i was still running a Strix 970 several weeks ago or so, but it went away. I am now running a Strix 1070, and the issue popped up again today. I have reinstalled the latest GPU drivers, but am not sure what has caused this issue. I have had the monitor for just over 2 years from new without any issues up until this point. I have the receipts/invoices for the monitors purchase. What is the cause of the weird pink flicker on the screen? A couple of screenshots are attached below. Thanks
  22. Ok, thanks I'll give that a go I'll get around to trying this tomorrow, just shut down for the night.
