  1. #ROGRigReboot <iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/ipAhjDQCvII" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> I am not sure how to make the video show up in the comment, so here is the link if it fails: https://www.youtube.com/embed/ipAhjDQCvII Specifications: Dell XPS 710 Intel Core 2 Duo E6420 2C/2T at 2.13 GHz 4GiB DDR2 667MHz EVGA GeForce 8800 Ultra 768 MB VRAM Dell Motherboard with NVIDIA nForce 680i SLI Chipset Ageia PhysX Processor Creative Labs SoundBlaster X-Fi Logitech G5 Mouse Zboard Merc Keyboard I enjoyed the challenge of taking a look at my old machine and making a video about it. Best of luck to whomever the winner may be.
  2. There were actually several quad core SKUs in Intel's Second Generation Core i7 Mobile Processor linup. Here is a link to the page on Intel's ARK that lists all of them: http://ark.intel.com/products/family/59136/2nd-Generation-Intel-Core-i7-Processors#@Mobile Yours is on the lower end, with a max Turbo of 2.9 GHz. By the way, it's nice to see another Sandy Bridge still running out there. I'm still using my SNB i7 2760QM.
  3. How is it telling you it is charging? What happens after you press the power button and it "lights up lights"? Does anything pop up on your display?
  4. It could also come from one fan blowing air into another fan (CPU fan, for instance). It would make a different noise rather than sound like the fan is spinning faster, though. If you want to see this effect in the extreme, take one of your fans and blow into the fan blades. Unless it's sitting in open air, the fan will have some resistance that it must overcome from the mesh cutout and fan filter on your case. It may not be much resistance, but it is there. Fans can respond a little bit different depending on if the resistance is on the intake side or the exhaust side. Try covering the intake and exhaust with your hand and see how it responds when you vary how much of the intake/exhaust is covered by your hand and when you move your hand closer and further away from the fan.
  5. The new Razer Blade would be a welcome upgrade from my aging Alienware M17x R3
