  1. No, I will try using other PCIE cables. And does microcenter do it for free or do they charge for it to be tested
  2. I built my first PC about 2 weeks ago with a 6600k,Powercolor r9 390, MSI Z170 M5 MOBO, and a CX750M psu. It was working fine until last night I went home and I just wouldn't turn on. So I troubleshooted and tested if the PSU was wrong and changed the position of the memory and it still wasn't working. But when I took out the GPU, it suddenly worked. When I plug in the 8 + 6 pin power connector to the GPU it just won't work. But when I take it out, it runs perfectly fine. Even when the GPU is connected to the PCIE and not connected to the PSU it works. Help!!! Is my GPU broken or is my PSU too weak for my build? (It was working for 2 weeks with the exact same parts)
  3. Can you send me a link of what it is? I'm not familiar with what type I really need
  4. Okay thank u so much, so would a surge protector prevent this from happening again? Or should I take other extra precautions?
  5. I recently just built my first pc 2 weeks ago, I was using my pc in the morning and it was just fine. As I went out while the PC was OFF, a thunderstorm went by. When I came back and tried to turn on my pc, it blinked an LED from one of my fans for a second and turned back off. Please help! Do I need a new PSU, how do I find out what's wrong with my system? (I checked if all the cables were plugged in correctly)
  6. How long will the 4790k and the 4690k last tho? I don't really plan on upgrading and when I game, I won't go above 1080p.
  7. I am having trouble deciding whether to get a skylake (6600k,Asus z170 gaming mobo, 16gb ram 2133) or a haswell (4790k,z97 pc mate, 16gb ram 1866) build. They are about the same price. I will be gaming and do light editing. I really need advice from experience pc builders to decide. Thanks!
  8. I am gonna build my first gaming pc with a 6600k,OC to 4.5ghz with h105 aio cooler and an r9 390. I want a "future proof" my build by ensuring I have enough power to run 2 r9 390 if i decide to get one down the line. Suggestions? Thanks
  9. I am planning to build a new pc with an r9 390, it says that it's recommended PSU is 750w. Is a Sentey 750w 80 Plus Bronze fine? (I'm on a budget)

Do I need like a bridge or something to connect these 2?
