    Yes actually.

Everyone seems to think that Youtube's ads are paying out massive sums to creators to run ads and as far other sites again ad revenue is usually a secondary source of income unless you are something like BuzzFeed that has no other product but ads.

Besides there are still plenty of people who just sit through the ads for one reason or another so Linus's complaints are at most much ado about nothing.

I am using the fans in the corsair case for now. I figured I already spent enough money on the lian li fans (x6) that I can take advantage of the 2 corsair fans that come with the case. I just don't understand how I can connect those case fans as well as the lian li fans at the same time.

Regarding the PSU, it was just on sale and got a great deal, I plan on upgrading to a 4090 in the next 12 months.

This is how you lose a lot of money lol.
People were selling RTX 2080ti's (1200$ card) for 400$, because the new RTX 3070 was as fast for 549€.
Has happened every generation, you will have to sell it for many times less than you bought it for, because the new cards will be faster.
Current rumors is that this gen will be as big a jump as last one, so rtx4070 will be as fast as rtx3080ti.
So if you buy one now for 1k$, expect to sell it secondhand for about 400-500$.

Honestly I'd wait. 4K performance is likely to take a big jump with the next generation.

I found the slot loading drives to be extremely unreliable. I never had one survive longer than about 5 years whereas nearly all my traditional drives still work fine (although the tray loading mechanism gets a bit weak after 10+ years).

Hybris5112 reacted to CatMilk in PSU Wattage - Am i still in the safe zone with so much hardware?
Good call, ill probably jump to a 1200w because my PC case can technically hold around 18 HDD's so no doubt it will be used in the future. I don't want to risk damaging so many components by cheaping out with a low wattage PSU.

The rig is my Unraid server. It runs my gaming vm, home assistant vm, a few other vm's, a pile of docker containers for managing my media, cctv, unifi, adblock, backups, websites going out over nginx etc. The WD reds are for my media, the WD purples are for my CCTV, the WD blue is a slow cache drive, 1 of the NVME's is a rapid cache, the other is a dual boot Win10/Win11 for the gaming VM (with the 2070 super). The T400 if for transcoding and re-encoding media.

Hybris5112 reacted to RONOTHAN## in How much of a difference does going from 80+ gold to 80+ titanium actually make for power usage?
Define "a little expensive." Assuming a cost of 20c/kWh (slightly above average for the US), a full system load of 750W (high, even for the rumored 4080), and 8 hours a day of gaming, it would take 5 years to even break even. If you game a more average amount, it would take even more time to break even.

It's a difference of 50W at most, the odds of that saving you from a breaker tripping are very low.

Hey I actually checked the drives and my HDD (not my boot Drive) seems to be the issue for some reason. Every time it's disconnected the PC turns on and works fine, as soon as I try to boot it with the HDD connected, then it hangs.

I tried another HDD to discard a problem with the SATA Port and with the cable and it worked fine.

I'll try to see if someone can fix the HDD if not, I'll have to get a new one

My Corsair K70 keyboard and M65 mouse. Being able to custom make macros for various games over the years has really made life easier. If I had to buy another keyboard I would spring for one with dedicated macro buttons just so I could get more use out of the feature.

As for past tech my old Radeon 7970 was in my opinion one of the last good AMD/ATI GPU's before AMD decided that celebrating mediocrity in market that is driven by performance was a good business decision. Sadly a power surge fried it and my monitor so I had to replace both with a 1080 Ti that serves me well to this day though I want to retire it so a media PC soon and a Asus ROG Swift PG279Q monitor that introduced me to higher refresh gaming and taught me that for the type of games that I play anything north of 144-165hz is wasted and that I would be better served by a high resolution monitor.

I guess it frees up door design, and novelty can sell cars.

I'd assume it's heavier, as there is a motor where there wasn't before? Also, on front doors at least there is a manual emergency handle anyway, so you're not saving on cost or production complexity versus a conventional mechanical handle. I'm firmly in 'it's a dumb idea' camp.

And I guess the point (Fact) they CAN be opened manually has been skipped over.
NO amount of safety features will do any good if the car owner doesn't bother to learn about them, or at least take time to ask and find out if they must.

Since the doors can be opened without power, that doesn't make the car itself unsafe.
To be fair the apparent lack of clarity about it is a problem and that does fall back on Tesla to an extent but at the same time, knowing your vehicle is also a responsibility of the owner too, that's why I say it in that way.

They need to build cars correctly that do not need electricity to normally open the doors. The fact that Tesla did not have an easy to identify emergency door release is appalling.

And yet a Corvette owner and his dog died in a vette because the owner didn't understand how to manually open the door. At some point people need to start taking responsibility for the problems that they create.
