  1. This one is baflfing me and I'm not certain which part of the forum I should be posting this in, my best guess is the PSU is the issue so I'm posting here. Upgraded my PC a couple days ago and have been having various issues since, for context: 19 13900k Gigabyte RTX 3090 Gigabyte Z790 Aurous Elite AX Corsair Vengeance 64GB (2x32GB) Corsair H100i Elite Cappelix Corsair HX1000i FM I was having issues with the cooler, while trying to fix it I shorted the motherboard. I imagine this plays a factor to the current problem. So, order a new motherboard and cooler (the one listed) and install everything. Excellent, it works. Concerned now that everything else is rubbish because of the short, I soldier on. Everything is going fine for a good few hours. Computer is running lightning fast and games are a beauty to run. While playing XPlane, and about 3h into a 4h flight, the computer just turns off, goes black in a milisecond and restarts like nothing happened. Now, I have monitored temperatures and everything appears to be in safe ranges. I've taken RAM sticks out one at a time to see if one of them is causing issues, but that doesn't make any difference. My only, poorly educated assumption (and a lot of googling) is now the PSU is somewhat dead, or at least hanging on for dear life. I don't know what to look for in terms of voltages, amps, etc etc but am currently logging everything that comes through iCue so if needed I can upload those. Is it possible my PSU is dead or could this also be some BIOS setting that I have, inadvertently, got wrong? I am very much hoping that I don't have to shell any more money on replacement parts. Appriciate any help!
  2. I have a drive or partition or something, I have no idea what. Its causing issues installing certain programs and I have tried everything I can find to get rid of it. It appears in file explorer put it isn't visible in disk managment. I have tried deleting it through diskpart with no avail. Attached images to show what I mean. Any ideas? Thanks
  3. Hey guys, Turned my PC on this morning as you do to find nothing happened. Lights came on but nothing on the monitor and no reaction from my keyboard and other USB devices. This happened after a Windows update so I took out my M.2 to see if I would get a BIOS screen, nothing. So I started by taking out one stick of RAM, don't know why but it worked. Now I have a BIOS. I put everything back in and it boots to windows absolutely fine. Now, whenever I turn on my PC I have to re-seat a RAM stick for it to successfully boot to windows. Any ideas? Thanks for any help!
  4. Seems to have worked pretty well, Thanks! Any idea what caused the "problem" in the first place?
  5. I've looked around and found millions of threads (not all here) on this "problem". But just in case I'm missing something. I thought I'd post here. SPECS: GPU: EVGA GTX 1080 FTW CPU: i74790K @ 4.7GHz PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA NEX 750W 80+ RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro DDR3 MOBO: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-Gaming 5 In games I'm getting sub 50% GPU usage (MSI Afterburner) which results in sub 40 FPS but in the menus of games I get next to 100%. Only once did I see an increase in usage to 60% in game which drastically improved FPS to ~75. This went on for a while but the GPU usage soon dropped back down to sub 50% and likewise did the FPS, dropping down bellow 40. I've read forum posts about how the GTX 1080 is overkill for a 1920x1080 monitor and therefore the card isn't running to its full performance all the time, but I just don't understand why this stops the card from performing, dare I say, at its best? I don't want 100% usage all the time but I'd like to see 60 FPS and higher, if possible. It obviously can reach higher FPS, because it did. Maybe I'm expecting too much from my GPU? Help is much appreciated. Thanks guys! vv Things I have tried vv
  6. After a year of owning a GTX 1080 it has come to my attention my card might not be running as well as it should be. I used 3DMark 11 and got a score of 14591 which after looking at other results is much lower than other computers with similar specifications. Having a look at the details of the test it seems to be saying that the core clock speed of the card was 773Mhz!: Is this meant to be or is there something potentially wrong with my card?
  7. Thanks a lot. Dunno why I worry so much LMAO!
  8. I realized as soon as I posted. My small brain hasn't been working at all today. Should be a good day!
  9. Hey guys! I have attached an image but it seems a bit odd that they would sell 2 of the same card with different clock speeds. Is there any noticeable difference between them or has OCUK gone mad? Thanks
  10. So in other words there will be no difference and they will both work exactly the same (give or take)?
  11. Hello LTT community, I am looking to get the EVGA GTX 1080 FTW and I have been looking at multiple sites. I have noticed that OverclockersUK listing for the card have a higher clock speed than Scan. I don't know if this is a typo or not but I was just seeing if of you knew? Thanks Guys
  12. I'm getting the card in result of a specific occasion. I don't want to get into details but waiting longer than I have stretched it already is going to lessen the chance of me getting any card at all. But I would have probably wait if I had thew option to! Thanks for your input anyways
  13. Thought it might have been a bit high. Hopefully I get lower temps on the 1080!
