Best CPU's in the newest sockets?
vladonizer replied to vladonizer's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
The other 2 options would be wait another generation to see what AMD is coming out with next, or just upgrade my 6800k with a used cpu(if I can find one) -
Best CPU's in the newest sockets?
vladonizer replied to vladonizer's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
So I should look at AMD and forget intel if I am looking to upgrade later this year? -
I have been away from PC building for a few years and I'm having trouble catching up on what the newest sockets & Chipsets for both AMD and Intel. If you could help me out on that, along with some suggestions of good CPU's I could get on that socket for gaming, that would be great. I'm looking to upgrade from my 6800k and I would rather go for the newest socket/chipset instead of upgrading in an outdated socket.

Looking for new Mobo/cpu/ram
vladonizer replied to vladonizer's topic in CPUs, Motherboards, and Memory
I should also mention, right now I'm running a 6800k with 16gb of ram -
I'm looking for these without a price limit. But if I don't have to spend $200 dollars more for hardly any improvement, I would like to save that for my other upgrades. Not sure what brand/model of cpu would be best, how much ram and what speed, and a good motherboard to go with it that has good features/looks. Wouldn't mind some white, but not required. What I do every week is: Gaming(mostly OW), Making/rendering videos in Vegas 14, and a lot of audio editing in audacity.

It really depends. But mostly 1080p files, 60fps, and anywhere from a few minutes to about 40 minutes

I am looking for a site(preferably free) to be able to transfer video files back and forth between people securely. What would y'all suggest?

Filling this pump/res combo from the top?
vladonizer replied to vladonizer's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
I was gonna get one of the cheap squeeze bottles from EK Oh, yeah. That's what I was thinking Edit: Although I wanted to make sure that having the loop feeding into the top wouldn't cause an overflow while filling the system when it got close to full -
Hey, I am new to watercooling and am planning out my loop. I was wanting to have this pump/res combo with the loop going back into the res at the top and have the port labeled "in" at the bottom actually have a drain hooked to it. And of course I will also fill the loop with another one of the top openings on the res. How well will this work? https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-xres-140-glass-revo-d5-pwm-incl-pump

I'm looking at one of these https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-coolstream-se-360-slim-triple https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-coolstream-pe-360-triple I also thought about their kits, but I want to pick out my own parts

I'm located in USA and currently have (parts I'm bringing over for now) 6800k Asus Edition 10 MSI Gaming X 1080 Corsair 1000w PSU 1TB Samsung SSD Plans are: Lian Li PC-011 Dynamic Custom loop with 360 rad(not sure if in top or side yet) Probably 9 fans(yes I know it's pointless overkill) Not really thinking too much about budget, since I am considering the white LL fans(now they are on sale for around $88 for 3 on Amazon) If I use all 9 fans, the bottom will be intake at around 100-1200rpm, top exhaust, side either exhaust or intake, depending on if I get pretty LL fans or go with something not pretty. Exhaust without the Rad would be at a low RPM
-
Why can't other manufacturers get that type of.performance, I wish I could get that performance with the looks of the LL(I'm into pretty lights)

I don't know very much about Noctua fans since I am a bit of a corsair fanboy. But I am going to be upgrading my system and getting new fans/cooler for it soon. Are Noctua fans really that much better than the top of the line corsair fans? I couldn't find any tests that put them up against the LL series. Also if I am thinking about a air cooler instead of an AIO, any suggestions there that work just as good, but aren't so massive that it blocks my ram?

Looking for a new PC case, asking for opinions
vladonizer replied to vladonizer's topic in Power Supplies
What setup do you have for the fans? I saw where its best to have 3 bottom intake, 3 side intake and 3 top exhaust. But side intake looks bad, and that matters too -

Thanks for all the input, I have decided on the pc-011D and will pick up more fans as well as change out my old 280mm aio with (most likely) a 360mm -

I think I will just buy mine off of amazon, everything else is too grey on whether it's legal or not. Better safe than sorry

Well I build PCs for friends and family, not replacing mine
-
Ugh. I hate that you have to spend over $100 for every PC you build if you already have the installation stuff and just need a code
-
I have a windows 10 home install disc from a PC I built. Is there a place I can buy a key code for cheaper then buying the whole OS for $100? Of course I want it to be a legitimate site that you have used

I have just gotten my oneplus 6 and even though in settings I am turning the LED Notification color to Cyan(also tried a few other colors) it always notifies me with a green LED. Anyone know how to fix this? I know that the charging LED's work(with the exception of dash charging)

Are the 120mm better than the 140mm version?
