    An update:

I sent back the 5500xt and got a refund.

Today I found a used RX580 nearby, I went and tested it and it was ok. Now I'm home and it's been running furmark for 30 minutes and it's stable.

The issue was the other GPU. The box that it came in had a small puncture and it probably slightly damaged something on the card.

I tried to see if things are any different on Linux, since I had a clean install there.

10 minutes into Furmark, same black screen crash, with the fans on maximum.

    Quick update:
Today I've seen a local retailer restock the RTX 2060. Unsurpisingly, it's quite expensive:
    (roughly 600 EUR)

You coud probably make a context free language for some simpler situations.
Eg: ADD(+x, offset) is something like:
    >offset +x <offset
(assuming positive offset, it's reversed for a negative offset)

However, it doesn't cover situations where you have inter-weaved + and -
    eg. +---++--+++--+-+-+-

Generally, it should be something like:
    ADD(x, offset)
    >offset w <offset , where the number of "+" in w minus the number of "-" in w is equal to x

That's pretty complicated and kinda useless (why would you do ++++--- instead of just +?).

Still, you could contract addition and subtraction. Instead of incrementing/decrementing by 1 at a time, just add/subtract the exact value needed

+++--+-+--+ is equivalent to adding 1.

That would make your job easier and it would be a pretty nice optimization.

[-] should cell a cell to 0 immediately and you can recognize it easily.

    ZERO(offset) would just be
    >offset ZERO(0) <offset

For jumps I suggest making a jump table.  Eg. precomputing where a loop will and and where you should go back at the end of the loop.

Nineshadow got a reaction from matrix07012 in NVIDIA to reintroduce the RTX 2060 series into the market
    Summary

Among the GPU shortages of these days, NVIDIA has plans to reintroduce more RTX 2060 and 2060 Super cards into the market, even though the 3060 is planned to be released next month.

The prices are expected to hover around 300 EUR for an RTX 2060 and around 400 EUR for an RTX 2060 Super (in France).

I've wanted to upgrade my GPU for quite a while now, but I, like a lot of other people out there, don't want to spend a big amount of money on a GPU. Right now, most mainstream video cards, such as the 1660 super or the RTX 2060, are either out of stock everywhere, or sold by scalpers at insane prices. The only cards that I see available are 600+ Euros and that leaves a lot of budget gamers with no GPU options.

This news brings some hope of finding a decent GPU at a reasonable price. However, it remains to be seen if it will be effective. The new GPU stock could be gone really quickly, or it could be sold at inflated prices.

On the other hand, this also hints at issues with the RTX 3060. NVIDIA might not be able to release it on time (unlikely), or NVIDIA has issues with supply and their partners won't be able to sell them at launch price (likely). Considering the new stock of RTX 2060 Super is expected to cost more than the MSRP of the RTX 3060, I think it's the latter.

Agreed, this is a remarkable feat regardless. And agreed, it is not for the average consumer. This first version could be considered a dev kit. I'm tempted to buy it just to support the project. And maybe to have a little piece of history. It could end up being remembered as fondly as the shitty old G1.

Tbh I think this is more of a proof of concept. They showed that you can build an entirely FoSS phone, without Android or proprietary firmware, and that you can actually ship it. I was actually just thinking about this very topic a few days ago and I wasn't sure if it would be possible in any practical manner. This phone is definitely more than I would have expected. It looks somewhat decent. Yeah, it's not a modern phone, it looks more like an Android phone in its early days, not a modern phone who a normal user would want to buy now. And I don't think anyone should really buy it, except for the people who are really interested in the topic of an open source linux phone and would like to try it out themselves (and who can afford spending $700 just for this).

Nineshadow reacted to LAwLz in Richard Stallman of GNU leaves MIT email leaks
Stallman did not even go that far. Stallman did not deny that it was sexual assault. He merely said that the term "sexual assault" might be misleading to readers because it heavily implies that the act was physically violent. But other than that, yes that's the gist of it.

There is some extreme tribal mentality going on in today's society where if you aren't 100% with someone, then you are seen as an enemy that deserves to have their life ruined.

If you ask me the entire rally was inane. Just a bunch of outraged students who wanted professors fired for MAYBE knowing about crimes committed by a business partner.

Nineshadow reacted to LAwLz in Richard Stallman of GNU leaves MIT email leaks
By the way, if you want the full story here are the things surrounding this.

Jeffrey Epstein is a diseased bank and finance worker who earlier this year was arrested for sex trafficking of minors. He died in jail. I believe he also was a large contributor (monetary) to MIT.
Marvin Minsky was a person working at MIT researching AI. He died a few years ago.
Richard Stallman is a person who worked at MIT and was a close friend of Marvin Minsky. He is mostly known for the GPL (open source license used by a wide variety of software) and his works at the Free Software Foundation.

    1) Because of financing reasons, Marvin Minsky was invited over to Jeffrey Epstein's private island, along with several other people.

    2) At the island, Epstein asked a then 17 year old girl to have sex with Minsky.

    3) In a fairly newly unsealed deposition, (linked above) it was revealed that the 17 year old girl was asked to have sex with Minsky. Although it is worth noting that she never said that they actually had sex, only that Epstein asked her to. It is also worth noting that at least one witness have said that Minsky turned the offer down, which makes sense since otherwise the 17 year old girl would probably have said that they had sex at the island, not just that she was asked to have sex.

    4) Now, a few years later, some people started accusing Minsky and others of sexual assault and started a rally at the school, calling for people at MIT to resign because of involvements with Epstein (mostly claims of "they probably knew about Epstein's crimes but didn't say anything").

    5) When Stallman saw his diseased friend get accused of sexual assault he said that the terms used to describe him was a bit unfair. The full statement can be found in my previous post.

    6) Now people hate Stallman for not wanting Minsky's head on a stick for allegedly having had sex with what seemed like a willing and mature woman. Because as we all known, facts doesn't matter. What we know is that a 17 year old was asked to have sex with Minsky by a third party and therefore Minsky should be labeled a pedo and rapist! Anyone who disagrees with this is clearly themselves a pedo and rapist!
