  1. Agreed but also depends on if you get it from a hoster, Then they normally have it for a small price a month. Ubuntu will use less resources than Windows Server does and normally doesn't have too many UDP and TCP issues that you might need to deal with it. If you know how to use ubuntu server, Then go for it. Should make a better experience for your gamers
  2. HI there, I had the same problem yesterday with a friends headset. After awhile i got it to work by removing the drivers, so when it comes up at the bottom saying not recognizable. I clicked on that and then when to that device and removed the drivers and when i plugged in it again. Win7 installed the drivers and all was good. very strange
  3. Hi there! Firstly software you can worry about later. You need the hardware to do this. What do you have right now and do you have this internet cafe? Sheldon
  4. You could get on before you messed around with your IP? The college could have blocked Origin?
  5. Maybe try reinstalling the OS?
  6. You will need the vCenter. I see your problem.
  7. They removed the RAM limit!

    VPN question

They can not see in a VPN connection. That is a tunnel to the house. They can see that it is a VPN connection but not what you are looking at.

    VPN question

Well if you use OpenVPN as a client you could but your school could block the ports that some VPN's use so you would need to try and see if they have the ports open that you need.
  12. I have used the before on test builds and I know guys that use it now. There's nothing wrong with it. It comes down to your code.
  13. Wait I get it! You want to upload your HTML code. Ok then use http://www.1freehosting.com/ to upload it via FTP.
  14. I was just about say GitHub! That and you could use http://www.1freehosting.com/ later on but that takes some more skill.
  15. Ahh I agree with you but I suppose it comes down to support (Not like MS gives support if you know what I mean, ) and what the people have used before.
  16. This isn't to you 1823alex but for people that read this thread and others like this. What is DDoS attacks, People normally get confused/ do not know the full meaning . Say that you have a one internet connection. Then you get DDoS, that means (e.g 35Gbps) can be requested every second so your upload speed cannot handle that (this is a very simple e.g) because no one has 35Gbps upload speed for home use. The way have websites handle it is by sending it the requests to a security company that has the hardware to handle it and push that attack over several data centers. Back to your question. Well I do not think so in your case. They will be hitting your IP so that IP will be going to your servers and redirecting won't work. Calling up your ISP and telling them that your are being DDoSed and they shall then block it and so on from their side. You need to check if you are cover for that. You would have a small time of impact. Or what you could do is give people a DNS name to connect to your server and that DNS name is pointing to a security company (this is the basic idea) and they will see the attack and respond correctly. The DNS name would point to their IP's and then when they clear an IP to access your server then it will be pointed in their system to your IP and no one will ever know your IP besides Skype but that has been fixed Hopefully this makes sense.
  17. Lets start here. Do you have a static IP? For your internet connection?
  18. and if you are running Windows and you can install IIS 7 (or 6) and use that. (this is from Windows)
  19. I'm guessing you want people to access this website?
  20. But that what Darren said. The ISP has the level and the hardware to do that. They can even send the DDOs to another datacenter or so on. A VPN will not work. Your best bet to load balancing (from a network side) with more one IP. So just have your ISP on call and call them and have a chat about their support for DDOS on one of their static IP's ( are renting the IP/S so they will want to care of it)
  21. A data provider is an ISP, An ISP gives you data.
  22. Like WindSpeed said, Or they own the IP's ready, Its like DHCP on the ISP side but instead of releasing those IP's every few hours. They get reserved to you/your host till you end the contact or remove those IP's from your account. The game hosts and so on do not have modems, it works on the same principle as LAN's. The ISP's already own a range of IP's so they are able to give those out on demand.
  23. This is great! Good work thinking out of the box!
