Disregard this post, forum lagged, and accidentally posted twice.

Awesome, thanks guys!

have you used it? and does it work how its advertised?

Alright guys, so I just bought a new laptop for grad school (MSI Ghost 007), and this is my first experience with windows 8, my parents have a laptop and it also has windows 8, and I don't care for it too much. If I remember right, there's a way to convert windows 8 to look like windows seven? with the start button? Also, what's the website to download all the programs at once without all the freeware? Thanks in Advance.

I run a 250 gig boot/games ssd and a 1 tb wd black as mass storage (honestly, its still not enough) why am I running this? cause I originally just had the 1 tb, but recently upgraded to a boot/games drive so now i just use the black as storage (cause I can't afford anything bigger), however i'd like more space to consolidate all of my files.

hey guys, weird question here, I've started folding roughly 3 weeks ago or so, and usually have my temps open through core temp (CPU) and EVGA's "precision x" software that way I can monitor the temps when the folding is running on full. but today i didn't open the temp programs and just started folding. when i did open the temp programs, the cpu was fine, but my gpu was running close to 80.... the instant i opened the "precision x" i heard the gpu fan kick up a few notches and the temp quickly dropped down to 61... my question is why doesn't the fan turn up under load to begin with? why must "precision x" be running for it to realize, "oh, i'm running hot, maybe i should turn up my fan...?" any ideas how to prevent this in the future?

Hmmm.... what I look for in a gaming system... something that will run everything on ultra or max settings preferably quietly!!
-
which voltages? i've got like 12 to choose from
-
Alright, I changed the voltage to 1.26 and got a blue screen.... so I changed them back to "Auto"...?? I wish there was a way to print screen the bios screen lol but i have so many voltage options that i could have changed...? also i found what i think is the north bridge.... I might have to search youtube for a tutorial...
-
alright, you lost me... northbridge? hypertransport bus? but i'll go set the voltage brb
-
ahaha sorry... yea GHz... was just reading off cpu-z and didn't make the conversion... my bad
-
chill bro, i've been quite impressed with the stock cooler (except for the noise level)... obviously it's running below 75 degrees... and I'm not really pushing the limits of an 8 core (yet(like i said i would be getting one soon))... whats the big deal? I didn't touch the voltage, just using the preset thing. what would you suggest as a good voltage? also, is there a way to keep the fluctuation down? keeps bouncing from 3.9-4.3

Hi guys, I'm a newbie here, I'd like to overclock my (cpu AMD FX-8150 Zambezi) so what I did was push the "O.C." button on my motherboard (Asus Crosshair Formula V) and then went into the bios and selected a pre-set overclock thing i believe... I also enabled "boost" whatever that means... basically i went from getting 3.6-3.9GHz to getting 3.9-4.3GHz I'm not really sure why there's fluctuation...? also my temps rose by roughly 15 degrees C. I'm running the stock heatsink, so that's why I'm really nervous about this whole situation, obviously i'm not reaching for the 5+GHz yet, but once I get an H100i or something I might try...In the attached pic I'm running Folding @ Home on full... just as a reference point... my temps seem to be holding steady at 58 degrees... If you don't mind, I'd like some tips for overclocking as well as input as to what a dangerous cpu temp is. Thanks in advance- Benton
