y_unit265 got a reaction from the gremlin in RAM upgrade question
If a motherboard were to exist that had 16 channel support at this point, then yes? I'm by no means an expert, but from learning how to build a pc, that is how I asume it works. (For me it explains the 1a, 1b, 2a, 2b naming on most motherboards, dual channel)

This topic may have some more information on the subject, although I haven't read it myself.

I just told from what seemed logical to me. Nothing of what I said is gauranteed to be correct, keep that in mind. I am no expert, nor shall I ever be (probably). I hope I've at least been of some use

    If you're gaming, no.

If you're doing things like Photoshop or editing FHD videos, yes.

i5 4460 is more than enough for most people. If you're gaming, you probably wont notice any improvement if you went to an i7.

If you do heavier workloads than video games, then you would probably experience a decent boost going to an i7, especially if its overclocked.

Its extra PCI-e Power, it is used so you dont burn out your 24 Pin connector when doing 4 way or more GPUs.

Yes, some motherboards use molex instead, it is almost NEVER Needed.

To remove your gpu/heatsink, you don't need to be tech savy.  Watch some videos on it. It is as easy as counting down from 27. (No idea why i picked 27.) You could also fill up any empty spaces in your case by using some boxes or packing materials. (for example the boxes your components came in)

    That will work fine.
Black wires are ground though, not yellow
Both the black wires onto each terminal of the switch and you're golden

    Molex connector->2 ground wires->switch->2 ground wires->molex connector

All in series the same as your diagram, just using the black wires instead of the yellow one.
    Hope this helps

Weak Physx card + Powerful GPU = weak performance. It's best to let the 1080 alone rather than have the 750 "help" it. Same thing with the 960.

I wonder if there will be many more lawsuits to come, and whether there will be class-action suit. This woman's story is far from unique, and the number of people with similar experiences is massive.

I had the same issue with my gpu. for some reason amd doesn't want to give your exact gpu. what did work for me was pressing "lookup" in gpu-z. It opened a webpage that had my (almost) exact gpu.

Get a 480. Definitely. Crossfire is not great and unless you already have a very high end gpu, you should not put two GPUs in your PC.

Yeah and sell the 380 now for a decent amount, before the Polaris launch. After the launch, gpu prices will most likely drop a bit.

It will remain 4gb. Gpu memory does not stack/multiple/ is not additive.

y_unit265 got a reaction from haiimbacon in What happens when you put 2 x 4gb cards in Crossfire? how much memory do you get?
To explain a little bit more in depth:
"Basically, each card must have a copy of the data (PCI-E bus is too slow for them to share vram). You wont be able to use more than 4gb on the 8gb card, because it must match the other card in crossfire." (Reference)

I'm just preparing for a deadly scenario where the 8GB doesn't cost just 230$ or 250$ and jumps to 300$ or above. am kinda impatient , gonna buff my whole rig and wanna make sure I get it right this time , last time i was foolish and bought price-wise , surprised i managed to get the CPU and MOBO to fit XD...
