Mr.Sane reacted to keja in AMD's Secure Encrypted Virtualization (SEV) defeated
More bad news in the CPU department, as a hardware-feature on AMDs Epyc CPUs that are responsible for encrypting the data in VMs have been defeated by a german team.
I dont know the extent of this, as im not sure how many actually use Epyc in production VS how many uses Xeon.

Im a bit tired of all the bad CPU news.

Mr.Sane reacted to LinusTech in LG Warranty, a letter to Linus
I'm sorry, but there's really nothing we'd be able to do about this. Even if we *did* work with LG mobile as a sponsor (we have worked with their agency that handles their display division, which might as well be on another planet) we'd be working with LG USA or LG Korea -who as you now know - are not able to influence what LG UK does

Mr.Sane got a reaction from InsanelySecretD in First GTX 1080 Review is HERE!
To be fair, I'm still happy with my Titan X because it is still the graphics card with 12GB VRAM and fits all my possible requirements! Hahaha, Also the sweet side, it also makes my friends jealous.

Ohh, Now I get it. I had those parts tested at the computer shop before I got em. I also have a warranty on them. All I have to do is to give it to the guy at the shop and he gives me a new part if the old one has a problem. Very good customer service.

Mr.Sane reacted to mrgooglegeek in Giant CPU Whoopsie!
Ok, so here is my story. A few years ago, I was taking apart an old dell desktop. I removed the CPU, which was a pentium e2200 (info on ARK) and proceeded to clean it and stuff it in my pocket absentmindedly. A few days later I heard some very loud clanking in the washing machine. I later found that I had left the CPU in my pocket and then run it in the wash. I know, I know, you should never handle the CPU like that, the static could have killed it, its my fault I screwed it up. I was just getting into computer hardware then. It has been in my desk drawer since. I was browsing YouTube last night and a youtuber called Tech Yes City! did a video about the durability of CPU's and GPU's. I now plan on testing the old and rather clean CPU, but I figured I would do a poll here first.
I will test it tonight and post the results both here and maybe as a new thread.

Build Title: THE RIDDLER
Thread URL: https://linustechtips.com/main/topic/149652-green-h440-special-edition-the-riddler-completed/
Description: Here's my Riddler H440 Build! What you'll notice first is the extensive airbrushed mural on the outside of the case. Another vivid aspect is it's bright green fluid that complements the purple in the build, using purple anodized screws for more color as well as purple and green PET sleeving, I toned the green down a little by purchasing a Redharbinger FMJ series reservoir cover. I placed the reservoir up front, horizontally between the GPU and PSU shroud, by drilling holes in the PSU shroud to mount the reservoir on the EK reservoir brackets so it would sit comfortably underneath my GPU. I mounted my EK PWM DDC pump on the backside of the hard drive cage to mount it up. I then purchased PETG tubing and a heat gun and taught myself how to bend, all done free handed. For all the details in the build, I bought a Silhouette Cameo and added decals with vinyl to give it that little extra something.

Well since you have a Titan X, Skylake i7 and a PSU way overpowered for you build I assumed a replacement mobo, a fan and a few sata cables wasn't going to be a problem but I guess I was wrong.

I had bought these parts a while back in Early January. Just assembled them a few days ago.

Interesting choice with the colours. I guess this is a different way to do RGB
I have to ask, why a Titan X? Especially right now, with the 1080 so close on the horizon?
