  1. I like to push the limits even when its diminishing returns. I guess its a hobby of mine to a huge degree. I'm in the states (NJ) so I have access to microcenter and reasonable prices to a degree. My cpu runs everything fine, but I want to see how far I can push it in terms of gains. I race cars as well and when i race, ill make changes for sometimes 1-5 HP in a 3k HP engine just cause I can. I do the same with my pc and complete PC rig. I got 5.1ghz all core stable except when running an AVX/ AVX2 test where i bsod. dont know why. Day to day use and all programs except those work fine. If anyone here is interested what I'm working on and what my current setup is looking like ill make a post and put the link here. I think its a cool project but I'm working on it as we speak so its unfinished. I have resources to make it happen so I'm not concerned all I need is time.
  2. For the most part, just to squeeze out as much performance as possible without massive amounts of chip degradation. all the things i do are cpu intensive and so everything matters in terms of performance even if its small until i upgrade and start the cycle again
  3. 4 sticks, im hardline water cooled and temps are a non issue even under load. ill fiddle around with voltages. what should i keep as the upper limit? the 1.4v? or lower?
  4. ill keep it at stock turbo the mobo sets i have cstates off too i forgot to mention
  5. I have ample cooling. The OC I have now is 40 degrees below cap under load. Im using XTU and cant seem to get this stable above the point i have it rn. All core 5.1ghz Core voltage mode is on adaptive, Core voltage 1.4v No core offset AVX2 Ratio Offset 1.0X (avx2 benchmark causes bsod with this) Turbo Boost Power Time Window 1 second. (keeps changing to 51 for some reason though.) No Intel Thermal Velocity Boost Stock CPU cache settings. It seems stable yet unstable at the same time and i have no idea why. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated. If any more info is needed I can supply Just want to get the absolute max performance out of this cpu. I have no power or thermal limitations (as of the moment.) I want to *try* and hit 5.5 all core stable. but if that isn't as realistic as I've read online, any boost helps
  6. Would additional latency be added without the use of an optical cable? I know its a digital signal, but I want to ensure same low latency from the rack to my desk as it is on my desk currently. Also, do you think since 8k 60hz is supported, 1080p 240-360hz is as well? I use display port so I never bothered learning hdmi specs (ik dumb)
  7. all of the above. I was planning on using a usb-c hub but it says over a meter adds significant data limitations and latency issues. I need to connect my mouse, keyboard, 1080p webcam, along with 1080p monitor at 240hz with lowest latency possible as I play csgo competitively.
  8. I need advice on what to do. I have a massive server rack roughly 4 meters away from my desk. What's the best way to get I/O from my pc (on the rack) to my desk without (or minimal) delay? Let me know if an image would be useful to help with ideas.
  9. You are a God amongst men. I could find a definitive answer anywhere. Thanks a bunch kind stranger!
  10. Cool ty ill do that rn Edit: im dumbass and didn't read that post with the proper tense.
  11. tldr- im building a dual motherboard build and i cant find the answer anywhere else. I want to use hardline water cooling i wanted to use the Hydro X series water blocks. Issues is i want them to match and i have a lga 2011-v3 (in 5820k) motherboard and a lga 1200 board (i9 10900k). Is there a version of hydro X thats compatible? Thats similar/same look?
  12. ok im going to keep all of that in mind. im going to do some research real quick and ill get back here to update
  13. your actually a god. also, do you think i should go for a dual or triple radiator setup on the water cooling. i dont have any experience with cooling and tbh i think thats part of the issue on why my current pc is shitting the bed
  14. also, i just checked out the motherboard, i currently have 2 Ethernet ports on the motherboard. one goes to my internet and the other to my NAS. Any ways i can get past this (old nas only has an ethernet port and nothing else besides 3 usb ports
  15. i was looking at the kraken water cooling system. im going to maybe reuse my ram for a little while as im going to bite a significant bullet for the price of the parts. the gpu i have currently is a 1060ti (good gpu but i still need the upgrades) i plan on essentially keeping this thing constantly at peak clock speeds. do you think the closed water cooling loop will suffice to keep it at ok temperatures?
