  1. Another thing you could do is remove the new RAM, log in and run ZenTimings, screenshot it, then shutdown and install the new kit and run ZenTimings again and see which timings changed, then go back to the BIOS and apply the slower timings (of the two). OP do you see two DOCP profiles in your BIOS? Which one do you have selected?
  2. Right click start menu -> computer management -> event viewer -> expand the warnings section and find WHEA. Also check for any kernel errors in the Error section as well, the error message might be useful.
  3. Sorry, but did you upgrade to 4x8 or 2x16? Not clear from your post if you are using both kits or just the new Gammix kit. Either way, it's probably a subtiming issue. Do you see any WHEA errors in Computer Management?
  4. 50 C at load? That's extremely good.
  5. Glad to hear it's fixed. This is like the fourth time I've seen thermal paste issues on EVGA cards (including mine). They need to start taking their QC more seriously. Side note: Now that you fixed the thermal paste issue you could do this mod to lower your temps even more with less noise:
  6. +1. Run the benchmark with side panel off. Also, I've seen issues with EVGA coolers not having even mounting pressure causing paste to look like this: Had this happen to me too and it caused the temperature to spike. I fixed it by applying more TIM where the mounting pressure was low. Make sure your TIM covers every part of the die even if it means putting a lot.
  7. BL2 is a poorly optimized game that is CPU heavy. What's your view distance? Other graphic settings? Physx settings? Go here for BL2 specific optimizations: https://pcgamingwiki.com/wiki/Borderlands_2 I find that changing the ragdoll/particle settings to help the CPU greatly. Also, it's well known that BL2 does not run well even on the highest end hardware. Same with me. You could try setting power management for your GPU to max performance here: https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/3130/~/setting-power-management-mode-from-adaptive-to-maximum-performance ...as well as on your CPU by going to the power management control panel and either choosing the High Performance plan or setting min processor state to 100%. Did you check the temps on your CPU/GPU to make sure it's not throttling?
  8. That error is because you are trying to install a "standard" driver over DCH which is the one you have. Make sure to change Standard to DCH from the nvidia driver page before downloading. But any how this is a very strange problem. Are you sure you are using the same settings? I agree with the guy above, it sounds like something is actually wrong with your CPU. You have the latest chipset drivers/BIOS?
  9. Post a picture of your GPU-Z please. Also check your temps for idle and load. At first that sounded like you plugged it into the iGPU, but your Ryzen doesn't include an iGPU. Did you plug it into the right PCI slot? The same one that your 1060 was plugged into? Check your BIOS to make sure that PCI-e mode is set to 3.0?
  10. Sorry for necro but does anyone know which zip ties to use for this? The one's on Amazon look kinda sketchy but the ones from reputable companies are like 60-70 bucks
  11. I think OP is referring to electronics, which in either case, he is wrong lol
  12. I'll enter for the sake of entering (and winning )
  13. http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=17923 http://www.nzxt.com/product/detail/123-grid-fan-hub.html http://www.frozencpu.com/products/20988/ele-1196/Swiftech_8-Way_PWM_Cable_Splitter_-_SATA_Power_8W-PWM-SPL-ST.html Are these what you are looking for? The Gelid and Swiftech ones can control PWM or 3-pin. The NZXT Grid can only control 3 pin fans.
