  1. That was very useful information!! Thank you for typing all of it. I'm in a pre-engineering program. This way, I can study natural science and still find a "real" job, haha.
  2. Okay, thanks. Do you have any examples? I know Lewis structures would be a pain in the butt. Is there anything else I should know about?
  3. The price increased when I refreshed the page, so I'm going to mark this post as solved and reevaluate my options. I still appreciate any suggestions you might have. Thank you!!
  4. I am a college freshman studying chemistry and physics. I need to buy a new laptop. I have access to a good desktop computer, so the laptop will primarily be for taking notes and researching in the library. I want a laptop I can continue using for a long time. This is what I'm currently looking at: https://www.lenovo.com/us/en/laptops/ideapad/ideapad-700-series/Ideapad-720S-14/p/88IP70S0833 Is this a good option, or is there a better alternative (higher quality or cheaper)? Thank you!!
  5. I live in the USA (Missouri). I'm aiming for around $900 or less. I want to save as much money as possible, but I need a laptop that will last for a few years. What Ultrabooks do you have in mind?
  6. Hi. I am bad at buying laptops. This is what I'm looking at right now: https://www.dell.com/en-us/work/shop/dell-laptops-and-notebooks/xps-13/spd/xps-13-9360-laptop/cax13w10p1c760?view=configurations&selectionState=eyJGUHJpY2UiOjg0OS45OSwiT0MiOiJjYXgxM3cxMHAxYzc2MCIsIlF0eSI6MSwiTW9kcyI6W3siSWQiOjExLCJPcHRzIjpbeyJJZCI6IjEwSEhFRSJ9XX0seyJJZCI6NTcyLCJPcHRzIjpbeyJJZCI6IkZHMDAzMCJ9XX1dfQ%3D%3D It's a Dell XPS 13 (9360) for $850. Intel i5 8250U 128 GB SSD (I think SATA, but I'm not sure.) 8 GB RAM 1080p display (I can't tell if it's IPS or TN.) I am a freshman college student pursuing a degree in chemistry and physics. I already have a good desktop computer. The laptop is primarily for taking lecture notes in MS Word. Is this a good choice, or can I do better? Thank you!!
  7. Hi, I'm trying to buy a laptop for college. I'll still have access to my desktop computer, so the laptop will only be for taking notes and doing homework. Are there any advantages to Apple computers for taking notes? I've used Windows my whole life, but my friends recommend Apple. I don't need to play games on my laptop. I'm going to take some computer science classes, but it isn't my major. I don't know where to start researching, so any feedback is great. Thanks!
  8. Yes, I've cleared it. These aren't college classes. Thanks for letting me know. I don't use my phone because the battery dies too often. My budget is around <$50 but I can change it depending on what I find.
  9. I don't want anything voice-activated. I want the microphone to record from the time I start it to the time I end it.
  10. Hi, I'm looking for an audio recorder to keep inside my pocket for extended periods of time. I've been using my iPod 6 for about two years, but the latest version of iOS ruined the voice recording app. It drains the battery too quickly and is often disabled by accident because the "stop recording" button was added to the lock screen. I need a small, pocket-size device with long battery life. The microphone should be able to pick up audio from across a room because I will use it to record lectures. Audio quality is not a huge issue (my iPod recorded in 64 kbps m4a), but high-quality audio is preferred. Do any of you have suggestions? Thank you for your time! I hope I'm posting in the right topic.
  11. I know someone who uses an app called "Backup to Gmail", but I can't find it on the app store. Is there another good app that can automatically forward my text messages to my email account? I want a backup of every text message I send and receive, just in case my phone breaks or decides to start deleting messages. Thank you!
  12. I didn't have problems with Vista, but I never want to use Windows 8 again.
  13. One other thing, I actually have the official Windows 10 USB drive from Microsoft, but I already used it on another computer. Can I use that drive to install the OS or is there some weird key embedded in the drive that would try to revoke my other computer's access? The drive should only be the files, right? http://a.co/e4WgMEc
