All the good sysadmins live in their server rooms.

Is halting the machine really standard operating procedure for multi bit errors? If you value data integrity above all else, I suppose you'd want that, but if availability of a service is also a consideration, the way it works now on Linux 4.10 seems to be the best approach to me.

    Yes, it is.

A multi-bit error is so rare that when it happens it means something has gone fatally wrong, so you don't want to the machine to keep operating if you value your data at all, or if you want to be able to trust the results of whatever program(s) you're running.

Very impressive, but just to nitpick, you'd get an ultimate-er gaming PC by getting a CPU with fewer, higher clocked cores.

Linux isn't an OS. It's a kernel. It's also the only one of the three that really belongs to the user.
If you don't care about being in charge of your computer and the limited variety of software and hardware compatible with MacOS meets your needs, it's probably the better choice on the account of better stability and supposed user friendliness ( personally, the MacOS DE frustrates me to no end, but I recognize that I'm in the minority on that).

You can write the installer ISO to another flash drive, boot from that and then do a full, proper install on the 128GB model as you would on an internal drive.

That guide describes how to set up Postfix so that it would only send mail given to it by locally running programs.
You shouldn't be basing your config on that guide if you still want the server to be relaying mail for you, which is what a user sending an e-mail from a server is called.
You can configure postfix to not listed for mail from other domains by leaving the 'mydestination' and 'interfaces' variables empty in main.cf or by simply blocking access to port 25 in the firewall.
Configuration of mail relay for users is done in the /etc/postfix/master.cf config file on which that Digital Ocean tutorial doesn't touch. Most configurations of Postfix I've seen delegate user authentication to Dovecot, though as you don't need an IMAP server, you should be looking at the examples given here.

Wait, so you do only want locally running programs sending mail, not users.
Well then that guide is all you need, innit? What do you not like about it?

You'd think the surveillance agencies would at least be so decent as to fund themselves with all the industrial espionage they do, but no.
They're building huge data centres to gather and store information about how to manipulate you, your lawmakers, judges and your press and then have the audacity to hand you the bill.

Well, when I'm setting up my next VM host, maybe I'll consider using Hyper-V instead of KVM as my hypervisor. Consider it, laugh to myself and dismiss it, but consider it still.

Well, yes, the php function doesn't send the e-mail itself, it only interfaces with the system's mailer, installing which is described in that guide.

If not by itself, then definitely when paired with that 16GB extended memory clip. Such CPUs should be limited to only using their cache.

I'd recommend Mint. It's based on Ubuntu, which is in turn based on Debian, so you can turn to their documentation when you want to find out how to do something, but the desktop environment (Cinnamon) is a lot less bloated and space wasting than Debian's Gnome3 or Ubuntu's Unity.
Mint 18 is based on Ubuntu 16.04, which I think automatically installs the open source AMD driver, but you can install the proprietary one as described here

Is a drop in IPS replacement for a chromebook c720. Its still 1366x768, but whatever. It looks so much better.

Panelook.com is a brilliant place for finding better replacement panels, they have basically everything in their lists, and this one from their list happened to be in stock at work
