  1. How about the Western Digital Black2 it has and ssd 120gb small and slow but i was planing on geting 1tb drive anyway, or would I be better off with a 1tb wd black and a 250gb sata ssd like a 850 evo or anything you think would be better. i would like to save money but i don't want to cheep out
  2. so that means I have to use the 950 (PCIe 3.0 x4 (up to 32 Gb/s) NVMe 1.1) or another ssd that has a PCIe interface listed I assume that PCIe 3.0 is backward compatible to 2.0
  3. looks like my board uses PCIe 2.0 i am thinking i should do the 250GB 850 evo do you know if that will work?
  4. ya I don't think I will need the extra speed I was looking that the speed I will get from the m.2 on the board and it is like 800MB/s after encoding and overhead. so I will not be able to get the full speed of the 950 pro
  5. Canon for video Nikon for photos. I have a Nikon d3300 and it dose shoot good video. The film crew I’m with uses canon so I’m the odd one out if I was to buy a dslr today I would still go with a Nikon but go to a d5300 but that’s because I still do more photos than video I haver never look any others brands so you might want to look at them also
  6. I like WD I would go with a Black if not Blue I know its more than what you would like to spend but you could look at the WD Black² its kinda cool and could help with the fact that the node 202 has 2 2.5 drive bays
  7. What ssd is best for my os/files/programs.I have an Asus X99-M WS Micro ATX Motherboard I would like to use the m.2 slot. I hope to set up a daily/weekly reimage to/from this drive let me know if this is a good idea or not and why I was looking that the speed I will get from the m.2 on the board and it is like 800MB/s after encoding and overhead. so I will not be able to get the full speed of the 950 pro
  8. as far as Battery do watts/volts to find the amps that your battery would have to be.If a ups will not work your best bet is a deep cycle battery and a power inverter... the real way to do it is a Rechargeable Power Source/portable powerpack like a http://www.amazon.com/Duracell-852-1807-Outlet-Rechargeable-Source/dp/B000S0VFTM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1462334484&sr=8-2&keywords=battery+generator ps. also look at power packs for photographers.
  9. as much as I would love to go with that really cool motherboard I will be going with a MicroATX board so i can expand if need be
  10. Hello I’m planning on making a highly portable desktop. This is my first build and would really appreciate any advice on what I have planned for my portable pc. I will link the pc part picker link at the end of the post I will list all the parts below 1. Budget & Location $1,400 USD + or - $200 I would prefer to keep it under $1450 2. Aim 3D work cad work in Auto CAD or Solidworks, video editing in Premier & Photoshop, and gaming from Minecraft to heavier graphic use games like Crysis 3 I would also like it to be in a small form factor to make it so I can move it easily I will most likely be taking it to events (like conventions) and school unless you believe I should use remote desktop or a similar solution 3. Monitors I will start with 2 hopefully going to a 3 monitor setup with one in front the touch screen below and the third to the right. The touch screen is 1920x1080 the one I currently have is 1280x1024 and I hope to replace the 2 non touch monitors to in the future to 1440 or 1080 at the lest 4. Peripherals I have windows 10 all the peripherals I will need 5. Why are you upgrading? I am using an HP pavilion dv6 with an AMD A8 and it is time to replace it with my first desktop so I can do video editing and more cad work PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K 3.3GHz 6-Core Processor ($342.38 @ Micro Center) CPU Cooler: Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler ($88.38 @ OutletPC) Motherboard: Asus X99-M WS Micro ATX LGA2011-3 Motherboard ($263.99 @ SuperBiiz) Memory: Corsair Vengeance LPX 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory ($49.99 @ Newegg) Storage: Samsung 950 PRO 256GB M.2-2280 Solid State Drive ($180.82 @ Newegg) Storage: Western Digital BLACK SERIES 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($73.89 @ OutletPC) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 570 2.5GB Video Card Case: Thermaltake Core V21 MicroATX Mini Tower Case ($49.18 @ Micro Center) Power Supply: Corsair RMx 850W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply ($109.99 @ Amazon) Case Fan: Noctua NF-A14 industrialPPC-3000 PWM 158.5 CFM 140mm Fan ($27.88 @ OutletPC) Monitor: Acer UT220HQL bmjz 60Hz 21.5" Monitor ($203.98 @ Newegg) Total: $1390.48 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2016-05-03 23:26 EDT-0400 I will be using my brother’s old Egva 570hd until the new Nvidia cards come out. I understand that the 570 will not be able to handle most of what I want to do but it is just a place holder for now. Unless there is an issue that I do not know about then I will need to find a cheap hold over till the new cards are available This is the link to the pc part picks build http://pcpartpicker.com/p/bm6Y6h
  11. i'm just unsure if i should go with a Micro ATX or ITX motherboard i don't plan on SLI but it would be nice to have lest two expansion slots but I don't have a anything that I would put in it right now
  12. Even the high end laptops Linus reviews are not what i'm looking, I know there are some out there even better than what i would like to build but i would rather have a small form factor desktop computer
