  1. Hello Internet! Ever since I have built my new PC and downloaded games onto steam random files have gone missing. At first I thought that they were small updates and patches etc, then I started up Anno 2070 and it crashed the game. I verified game cache and it seems that 3 GB was missing from the file. I though this was a one off until I started up Planetside 2 that had downloaded overnight ( also the in launcher updates ), and played it for one hour. I then quit steam for 5 mins to have lunch and came back. I clicked play and the game crashed. I verified game cache and suddenly there was 333 Files that were not installed and I had to downloaded 9 Gb again. This has repeated on more or less all of my games for the past two weeks. I have used AVG and Malwarebytes to scan my SSD for boot, and my HDD and both came out clean. I have also used crystal disk to check for faults on both the SSD and the HDD, and both were fine. I am wondering if it maybe a bad cable that I am using or weather or not it is a fault in windows. I am using Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, and the cables I am using are standard corsair ones that come with the 750W modular PSU. I hope that the internet can use its hive (ish) mind to help solve this problem, as it is beyond a joke. Regards, Fatbot41
  2. The laptop listed is with some of the stuff taken off it, I am building my own PC atm. I could do it with a 250GB HDD, 750 GB HDD and 16GB of ram. I would save around £90 off my build, but how much more would It sell for do you think? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Dell-XPS-L702x-17-Laptop-Intel-i7-8GB-RAM-256GB-SSD-640GB-HDD-3GB-nVidia-/290952332357?pt=UK_Computing_Laptops_EH&hash=item43be1c4445 I found this one that's all ready got £400 for more or less the same pc.
  3. I was looking to, just I was not too sure how safe it was, or how much people would pay for it.
  4. Hi, I was looking at selling my laptop, a dell xps 17" and I was wondering what sort of price I should put it up for ( Ebays prices vary a lot in the bidding, from £300 to around £800 ) and where I should do it. It is in very good condition and was originally purchased for £1200 from dell new in May 2012. It can run ( No Joke ) Eve online at max graphics, Skyrim at high, and borderlands 2 at high graphics all at once ( with 2 of the three in the background ) and is very good at gaming and is keeping ahead of the laptop crowd by far. These are the specks and I hope that you can help! 5. Nah, I have had some large pc's before, and anyway, I have a lot of room spare on my desk/under my desk. It would easily fit in 3.5x1x0.1 desk!
  6. Yeah, I need the motherboard size with the large case because of the graphics card, 12 inches. It would be nice to have a lot of left over room to expand in future years where new larger graphics cards come out ( Over the past few years they have been getting bigger, not smaller ) Oh, this one is. It is so if I want to expand in the case I have a lot more room. Also if anybody trys to steal the pc, its a massive thing, its going to be pretty hard to steal compared to a matx in a matx case, just too large.
  7. Sorry to bother all of you again! Just I would like to know what in your opinion is a better card from performance wise, not looks ( Called my computer Steve and has a Noctua NH-D14 :P ), between the Asus GTX 770 or the MSI GTX 770. I was looking at fps difference, I am willing to slightly overclock the card, but it will be off stock cooling. Hope you can help!
  8. Thanks for all the quick responses! I will go with the NH-D14 then!
  9. Hi. I was looking to overclock my i5 3570K to about 4.5 ghz, I was looking to keep the temperature below about 80C and I was looking to keep to a maximum budget of £65! I hope you can help me with this as I am very new to the air cooling side of computing!
  10. Thanks all the responses, I will take them into account. I am looking to make it as future proof ( I know that that is impossible for over 3 years ) and I was wondering what sort of life span it has ( as in how many more years it can keep running games at good settings ). Thanks for the feed back again and I hope that you can answer my questions!
