Hello Internet!
Ever since I have built my new PC and downloaded games onto steam random files have gone missing. At first I thought that they were small updates and patches etc, then I started up Anno 2070 and it crashed the game. I verified game cache and it seems that 3 GB was missing from the file. I though this was a one off until I started up Planetside 2 that had downloaded overnight ( also the in launcher updates ), and played it for one hour. I then quit steam for 5 mins to have lunch and came back. I clicked play and the game crashed. I verified game cache and suddenly there was 333 Files that were not installed and I had to downloaded 9 Gb again. This has repeated on more or less all of my games for the past two weeks.
I have used AVG and Malwarebytes to scan my SSD for boot, and my HDD and both came out clean. I have also used crystal disk to check for faults on both the SSD and the HDD, and both were fine. I am wondering if it maybe a bad cable that I am using or weather or not it is a fault in windows. I am using Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit, and the cables I am using are standard corsair ones that come with the 750W modular PSU.
I hope that the internet can use its hive (ish) mind to help solve this problem, as it is beyond a joke.
Regards,
