  1. I can't resist; enjoy: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Y8i1Ddj1Sw8&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DY8i1Ddj1Sw8
  2. Irrelevant, afaik you need to put the cpu inside a Q-series mobo to even get to use virtualisation features with intel CPUs.
  3. Finally somebody who noticed this as well. Every thread - wait for rebadge...
  4. Irrelevant. The ECC memory support also is irrelevant if you put the Xeon in lga 1150 socket motherboard with a 'regular' chipset like b85, h87 or z87 since they support normal DDR3.
  5. http://ark.intel.com/compare/75036,75052,75047 http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Chip-Processor-3-1-BX80646E31220V3/dp/B00D697OEW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380661153&sr=8-1&keywords=e3-1220v3 http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i5-4430-Quad-Core-Desktop-Processor/dp/B00CO8T9VC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380661176&sr=8-1&keywords=i5-4430 http://www.amazon.com/Intel-i5-4670-Quad-Core-Processor-BX80646I54670/dp/B00CO8TBR4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1380661553&sr=8-1&keywords=i5-4670 Xeon e3-1220v3 (i5-like) doesn't look as amazing of a bargain as 1230v3 (i7) but it has 2mb more l3 cache which does positively influence the performance (albeit really small), it DOES have similiar clocks when compared to other i5s and it has all the goodies that all higher-end i5 and all i7 Haswell have: Intel TSX-NI which for example i5-4430 doesn't have.
  6. Mantle is supported on GCN so all 7970, 7950, 7870xt etc. will be supported as well as the new cards and rebadges. But i'll quote myself here:
  7. it is, but the prices from databases are recommended, not real-world. check newegg and other stores, it's around 250$ or in other words 10-20$ more than 4670k.
  8. The thoughts are as follow: If you were to buy i7: a) Want to overclock - 4770k B) Don't want to overclock - Xeon E3-1230v3 c) Want the iGPU of 4770 but don't want to overclock - you are doing it wrong, you should get a dedicated GPU If you were to buy i5: a) Want to overclock - 4670k B) Don't want to overclock but have enough money (around 250$) - better get non-OC i7 Xeon E3-1230v3 c) Don't want to overclock - i5-4430, i5-4440, i5-4570 or i5-4670 whichever is inside your budget
  9. Oh right, what do you mean by IPC here? If you mean instructions per cycle then you are terribly wrong, the only thing they can alter on a chip that already is made is the memory and core clocks. What "more" is to them than older GPUs? What? TrueAudio is only on the new GPUs i.e. 260x, 290x [and 290, as well]. What else could they possibly add to the rebadged chips?
  10. That's probably the reason why they released FX-9590 4,7GHz for nearly 1000$, hehe
  11. If you don't like it then go and hire yourself at AMD HQs so you can help them improve their product lines. I have no problems with AMD GPUs, and I always thought by the nature of free commenting it's not important whether the comment is negative or positive as long as it's relevant to the thread and I think saying that the older GPUs seem to have better value right now than new rebadges is completely relevant. Agree/disagree?
  12. RAM speed is irrelevant as long as you are not out of VRAM with the GPU and there's enough RAM to mirror the vRAM. You are completely fine.
  13. Blind fanboyism of what? old Radeons? Oh please now. I don't say anything good about AMD products? what? I like their GPUs, what's the problem with that? Me making comments that a series of rebadges is not worth waiting for is bashing AMD in your eyes?
  14. Any problems with me saying there's no reason to wait for new GPUs from AMD unless somebody wants to buy the factual NEW GPUs (260x, 290 and 290x) because rebadges are not worth waiting for in my honest opinion?
  15. You wasted money on the laptop but it's probably a bit better than a console or at least equal (im talking about GPU since CPU is superior on your laptop). But why you wasted money: you could buy a lot faster PC for the same money.
  16. CPU is fine altho that motherboard sucks for overclocking. Should be fine overally, get a better GPU first (you could pair it with something really overpowered if you wanted, like 7970 or 7950 or 7870xt).
  17. Rebadge of 7870xt and 7970 coming at 200$ and 300$? It's gonna be more expensive than the current GPUs? LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL.
  18. Hint, hint: Iphone 5 might be doing same thing except it's a locked OS so you might never know.
  19. Yes you are killing it slowly when running at full load 24/7 because overally the chip is being always sloooooooooooooowly killed if it's running but when you run it at load 24/7 it's gonna go to waste a lot faster than if it's run few hours daily (obviously). Bad temperatures would make it happen faster (or overvoltage + 24/7 running at load etc.). In other words doing 24/7 full load is not really, really bad for the stuff you have, BUT it isn't a good thing you should do, either.
  20. 280x rebadged 7970 for 300$ 270x rebadged 7870/7870xt (one of these GPU chips rebadged but we dont know which one yet, no improvements so performs exactly the same as current 7870/7870xt) - 200$ I'd guess IF they re-release 7950 it will be 280 (without "x") and cost 250$. You can imagine it's not really gonna be cheaper than the 7950 currently so no reason to wait.
  21. R9 270x being a 7870 or 7870xt at most will be slower than 7950 so make him get 7950 now before the prices raise again. And dont buy cheapo SSDs, buy a well-performing and long-lived one like this: http://www.dinokomp.si/produkt/ocz-vector-128gb/ or Samsung 840 Evo or Plextor M5s.
  22. LMAO: Very well-performed and well-setup benchmark, GTX Titan has higher minimum framerates than average framerates. Congratulations, this benchmark must be legit with such black magic being performed! /sarcasm Next, please.

  24. If "next-gen" weakling consoles would have an AMD kavieri APU inside they wouldnt be able to play even 720p at 30fps so... nope, they dont have a Kavieri APU inside. They have a dedicated GPU and 8 weak jaguar mobile-processor cores linked together on a special PCB and use HSA/hUMA. So a bit like APU but it is not a simple iGPU of a size of normal CPU, it's a regular GPU afaik.
  25. It's not a workstation CPU, so why do you say i want to give him workstation CPU? it's just an i7 without iGPU. X86 processor based on Haswell architecture with hyperthreading from Intel like any other i7. He wants to get i7-4770 since he's not overclocking anyway, so I said he can save some money and get a cheaper i7 - Xeon e3-1230v3 - which doesnt have iGPU he would never use anyway. You say it's not a good idea to get i7 when he wants i7 because you can get overclockable i5 even tho he doesnt want to overclock. F--- logic!
