Joe3417 reacted to Sauron in 34um95 does 60 vs 120 hz matter
resolution has nothing to do with refresh rate, they are separate things. 120hz does make a noticeable difference if your hardware can reach over 60fps in games (not 61fps, it's worth it if you're getting 90+). Resolution also makes a notceable difference, this time with image quality. If you're into competitive gaming and don't care much about thequality of the image but rather for the quickest reaction time possible, go for 120hz. Otherwise get a higher resolution. If you can, get both.

Joe3417 reacted to Langdon in When will there be 1080p PLS 90Hz/120Hz monitors from trustworthy manufactures?
For a manufacturer to release that kind of monitor for mass production, it'll be extremely expensive. Especially with cherrypicking.
It could happen, but the cons outweigh the pros for the company in my opinion.

Joe3417 reacted to Osmium in Battlefield 4 "Competitive Gaming" Push/Marketing
Competitive shooters should either remain on CS's shoulders or someone should make something new specifically designed to be competitive instead of triple A titles with a competitive mode tacked on at the end. Competitive BF4 is just a bad joke.

Joe3417 got a reaction from minimalist in BenQ 2420T vs 2420TE vs 2420Z
Do not buy the TE one as it is discontinued and all prices you will find for them will be inflated. The 2420t is the older one and its only 120hz refresh with a bit worse colors than the rest. The 2420z is the newest benq member with their "benq blur reduction" which is basically a marketed lightboost hack and if you don't know what that is then google it, and it's not worth the price. I have the TE,T, and the asus one that is in my description. If I had to choose another high refresh monitor it would me no doubt the VG248QE. I've had the best experience with that one. If you absolutely need the blur reduction then use lightboost for the asus.
