  1. I would have to do that after finishing the whole project, I want to know if it would effect speeds so I could find another solution.
  2. 2. But the original broadband cable might possibly be from a older generation? (Building is about 20 years old) 4. Lucky Singaporeans
  3. Hi, Here is my situation, we've got a 50mbps fiber connection at home, I would like to connect my desktop computer to the modem through a wired connection without running a cable across the whole living room (where our router and modem is) and into my room. I have noticed that there is a lan port for broadband in my room (which doesn't have an internet connection anymore because we switched to optic fiber), which is connected to a visible cable that runs through a hole right above our modem, and out of the house to somewhere idc. My questions: 1.So could I cut off the cable where it's right above our modem, then solder on a cat 5e cable and plug that into the modem so I can get a connection from the port in my room? 2.Will the cable limit my internet speed? (Not the cat 5e I'm buying) 3.Any other issues that might happen? (E.G. Speed degrade because of cable length) 4.Has anyone ever done something similar to this before? Thanks in advance, I will be posting a video of the project on youtube if it turns out doable. Franklin P.S. Any reddit threads I can post this to?
  4. This is the perfect display for a lan party setup!
