I could never see the point in LGA2066 myself. I mean it does have it's use cases obviously, but not for me personally.

What are you going to be using it for @Lurick? I'm guessing a workstation, but specifically I mean?

I am hoping that the 7nm AMD offerings we should see next year will be good enough on the high end chips to be decent workstations. Hell my 1700 is quite decent in that regard, but the shrink to 7nm and hopefully higher frequencies should be epyc :P

@paddy-stone Part workstation and part gaming. I spent a little extra to get it delidded and liquid metal applied so I should get some nice overclocks out of it :)

The biggest reason is I refuse to give up my dual gpus, 900P, and 10Gbit nic :P

Ahh, that's cool... yeah that will definitely be one powerful beast there :D

I occasionally think to myself "should I just drop a few grand on another system?", but then my inner wife, as I like to call my thrifty side, chimes in with "but you've already got like 4 systems, can't you do whatever it is with one of those already!!!"  xD

I am gonna ignore the shit out of that side next year though.
