  1. Hi, I recently installed office 365 using my college's provided license. Everything works OK, but the icons in the start menu search are wrong. Everywhere else, including taskbar, app list, and file explorer, the office apps use their new logos, but in the start menu search (when you search by pressing win+typing) the apps show with the old logos. This is a completely clean install of windows. Thanks.
  2. I've seen about 30 different release dates, some saying the start of august, some saying mid-September. Some sites said it's available in the US and China as well, but it might not be.
  3. Has anyone seen any reviews of the new XPS 13 2 in 1 yet? (not the computex first looks). Or if you have one already, what do you think about it?
  4. I also appreciate the idea of being able to open up my laptop and exchange, repair and replace components, instead of the manufacturer prohibiting me from doing so.
  5. If you're paying $2,400 for a laptop, shouldn't it have a keyboard that works for more than six months?
  6. If you're paying $5000 for a monitor, shouldn't it come with a stand?
  7. Having tried a Matebook X Pro in person, i feel that the trackpad and keyboard are good (in my opinion). What do you mean by the Matebook's lack of active cooling? I'm pretty certain it has fan(s). If it's regarding it's cooling strategy, is there not a setting within windows power plan to change that? I have experienced Huawei's customer service and warranty first hand with my old phone. I agree, it's awful. In this case however, I would be purchasing a third party warranty.
  8. Thanks for the advice! Matebook X Pro still isn't back on the UK store yet, but other places do a student discount as well.
  9. Hi all, I'm starting at sixth form (college) in September and need a laptop / 2 in 1 for general use and the more intensive tasks produced by my Computer Science course. I initially headed towards a Surface Pro 6, as I like the portability, power and ability to use a pen (for note-taking and drawing flowcharts). However now that I've seen devices like the Matebook X Pro around, with an incredible display, better power and easier on-lap usage (for the same price). Which would you prefer to have? Are there any alternatives to the Surface Pro that have such a good screen like the Matebook? If you have any other recommendations: - Ideally a small SSD as almost all resources and work are cloud-based - Ideally under 15" - Must use Windows as school relies heavily on Microsoft services - Budget is around £1,000 / US$1,225 / CA$1,630 / AU$1,800 / €1,100 Most thanks, S h u r i k e n
  10. @Velcade I have all the fans on the R6's controller, using fanxpert4 to manage them. All the fans are defo spinning at full speed when i tell them to.
  11. @Velcade Mine usually tops out at 75ish C, i put the default fan curve up by 20% to help with that - i don't really care about the noise
  12. @K i a r a @Velcade Fans are defo facing the right way @tikker 1. Bottom intake is filtered 2. The bottom fan placement is right at the front of the case, having it as an exhaust would affect the intake from the front
  13. Hi, I've got a FD Define R6 (TG) with an 8700k and a strix 1080 (as in sig). The fans are setup like this: (All stock FD fans, extras sourced from define s) Front - 2x 140mm intake Top - 2x 140mm Exhaust (i've got the optional top panel installed) Rear - 1x 140mm Exhaust Bottom - 1x 140mm Intake CPU Cooler - Cryorig r1 ultimate What i've noticed is that all the hot air from the gpu is just pooling where it's fans are, the exhaust air is barely warm, and i can feel the exhaust of the gpu on the side panel in small, very hot patch Is this the best arrangement of fans for this type of gpu? Would better fans (eg noctua chromax) be a better option?
