  1. The problem with that is the company that made this software is no longer in business so we can't really contact them..
  2. Right now I turned off Windows Firewall to not deal with it blocking anything. I did install SQL Server 2000 now I'd like you to tell me where I need to go to run it. In services I don't find anything related to SQL not even stopped services. I'm sorry for being very vague but I've been trying to launch this program for days and I feel that I am sooooo close. I REALLY appreciate your help.
  3. Ok, is it ok to install SQL Server 2000 ? It seems to install ok .. but the error persists
  4. Ok so I got an old program from an old pc running Windows XP, I've copied all the data to launch the program but I cannot launch the program as it gives me the error connection failed. I managed to recreate the problem on the original PC after stopping a service. I copied the data of this service to my Windows 10 PC and the only thing stopping me from running the program on Windows 10 is to run this service. I do not have the original installation media for this service so I need to make it work like this. When I try to launch sqlservr.exe it gives me the error : "SQL Server could not find the default instance (MSSQLSERVER) - please specify the name of an existing instance on the invocation of sqlserver.exe. If you believe that your installation is corrupt or has been tampered with, uninstall then re-run setup to correct this problem." Anyone know how to solve this ? Thanks in advance

Although I do know that the menu could be edited through the program itself when launched, that's why Im trying to launch it

Yes I think so too but unfortuanetly since we have some old staff it would be hard for them to learn a new system so we are going to see if we can try to 'refurbish' the old one . I copied all the files and got them home with me and I can't even launch to software. I had to download a bunch of .ocx files but it's now giving me an error that it is failing to connect so the DLL's were my only hope

I'm gonna be honest and say I have 0 idea on how to try this. I tried using dotPeek but it says it's not supported. Any ideas?

Hi, So I work as a part-time at a restaurant and we use tablet like devices to take orders. The system we use is like 10-15 years old and the company that produced the software is no longer in business. We need to edit data like delete any old items that we no longer serve and add new data. Unfortuanetly we can't do this from just opening the program itself. I'd like to know if there is a way that I can open and modify the DLL's themselves. If anyone can help I'd greatly appreciate it as we are kind of stuck here
  11. Yeah, I ended up having to replace the motherboard and buy a new graphic card. A year later and everything is fine; though I am still very angry that Alphacool stopped responding to my emails after they kept claiming that their liquid cannot damage any electrical hardware. It obviously did as I still have the unfortunate graphic card and it still does not work..
  12. The GPU's are perfectly clean. I need to get the air compressor for a deep well deserved clean; but until then I'll have to settle with it as it is..
  13. The case has 9 fans, one of which points directly onto the GPU's and if that were the case they wouldn't have run fine for over a year
  14. Ok so I have 2 GTX 980's in SLI that have been working great for over a year now; both bought used. Unfortunately since last week one of the GPU's started showing absurd temperatures. Like 58C when idle (with fans @ 100%) when it usually never went above 41C at idle (when the fans were literally off). When I launch a game; even if it is just in the main menu the temperature goes up to 95C, the fan goes to full blast but oddly enough it does not thermal throttle. Games still run perfect without any issues. Now I would have thought that the thermal paste had gone bad but this change happened literally in terms of minutes. I was playing Overwatch for quite some time just fine and all of a sudden this issue came out of nowhere in the middle of a game. I tried using a fresh copy of windows, switching the PCI lane and flashing the motherboard BIOS but nothing seemed to help. I reached out to EVGA who agreed to have it sent for RMA but I just wanna check if I can fix it myself instead of going through the trouble of sending it and all that. Any ideas of past experiences are greatly appreciated. Thanks
  15. Ok, so my grandfather has a CCTV system that was using a 1Tb Seagate Barracuda for the last 2.5 years. A few months ago he told me it wasn't recording. I went over and noticed that the system took much longer than usual to boot. Once it did, data could still be read. It recorded for a few minutes and stopped. I gave him a 2Tb HDD I had in my rig, and this HDD is designed for 24/7 use. The Seagate one he had, was not designed for 24/7 use. I got home and plugged the HDD in the pc. It took much much much longer to boot into Windows. My boot drive is an ADATA SSD so it usually boots in 15 secs. Having this HDD connected delays the boot time by sometimes even minutes. Once it boots the HDD is not detected. Neither in disk management or other programs I installed. In the bios, which btw also takes a longer time to get into when this HDD is connected, the HDD is sometimes found. I obviously changed the sata cables several times to ones I'm sure that work. When the HDD is detected I try to run a windows Installation disk in hope to maybe be able to format the disk, but if I am even lucky enough to get it found in the installation process, it fails to format it and it dissappear from the list of drives. Anyone has any idea how I can get some more life out of this HDD? It does spin up, and as I said, before I got it from my grandfather, even though the system took longer to boot, the data was Still accessible... Thank you
