  1. If you are looking to learn the basics of programming I would recommend using VBA to get started. All that's required to start writing code is a version of Excel on your machine. This is the first language that I learned and it has helped me automate and make my general work tasks easier. Once you have become accustomed to the general logic of programming it will be easy to move to another more powerful language.
  2. Hello, I have recently bought a mixer to record my voice over the computer sound and have bad static/buzz issues with my motherboard "mic in". The mixer I bought is at the below link. http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-MG06X-6-Input-Compact-Effects I am now going to try and return the current mixer in favor of one with a USB connection as shown in the below link. http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-AG03-3-Channel-Mixer-Interface Will this mixer allow me to get the sound from the computer, mix it with my microphone input, and then send it back to the computer for recording all over USB? Or will I need a separate input from the computer "speaker out"? I figured that I would ask questions before I bought a mixer this time around. Thanks for the help. Any other comments about the mixers are welcome as well.

I don't believe that standard audio interfaces allow you to change how your voice sounds to that degree. I think your USB choices sound pretty reasonable. I just found out myself that even if you get a mixer/audio interface make sure it outputs to the computer with USB. I have a bunch of static/buzzing that I can't get rid of and will probably have to buy different stuff.
  4. This mic is dynamic so I probably wont get any benefit ( and I think I shouldn't use it but I could be mistaken).
  5. I doubt i can swap them since I ordered online. I probably just should have ordered a USB mic and not tried to get fancy with the mixer.
  6. So then I probably should have gotten a mixer with USB output?
  7. My setup is motherboard "speaker out" to "3/4 Line" on mixer and Rode mic in on "1/L" and then output to computer "line in" through "Stereo Out" on mixer. I am not sure what the main outputs are. I am very new to mixers and decent mics in general.
  8. It has one L and one R but it says UNBAL right above them. amazon link to my mixer if it helps you http://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-MG06X-6-Input-Compact-Effects/dp/B00I2J4V5G
  9. Hello, I am having background noise/static issues when trying to record audio. I have just purchased this equipment and this is the first setup. My setup: X99 Deluxe "speaker out" on rear of motherboard 3.5mm to 1/4" cable Yamaha MG06X mixer board - also has a Rode Procaster mic input on mixer 1/4" to 3.5mm cable X99 Deluxe "line in" on rear of motherboard Even when I plug in a cable to the front/rear "mic in" or "line in" and leave the other end unplugged there is a noise picked up by OBS (Open Broadcaster Software). This cable is supposedly shielded (Hosa CMP159 Stereo Breakout, 3.5 mm TRS to Dual 1/4 in TS, 10-Feet). I have also tried switching to the cable that came with my Audio Technica headphones and this input noise still appears. Any thoughts on how to fix this issue? This noise is very noticeable in recordings. Thanks for the assistance.
