Anir got a reaction from Essence_of_Darkness in Graphical glitches
I cried a lot for this configuration, then I got it, I previously owned a gen 1 core i3 with a Radeon HD 5450, the vendor sold me stating as a gaming PC., And I didn't have any knowledge about specifications back then, 2gb graphics memory meant a lot for me. That pc was shit. ??

You can stick the 4GB stick in your PC. Your system though will run at DDR3-1600 at best, or DDR3-1333 at worst (DDR3-1333 is the "default" speed). If you don't have another pair for the 4GB, you'll run all sticks at single channel.

Anir got a reaction from FRN in OC FPS Gaming/Workstation Build
Plzz change the graphics card, rx 480 will do 1080p gaming, but won't give you more than 60fps with all eye candy turned on, on some games and a 144hz monitor is a waste of money when paired with this card, get a gtx 1070 or at least gtx 1060 6gb version and overclock it. Rx 480 is not a good overclocker, where as pascal GPU overclock like a beast. Or since motherboard chosen is a nice one, get 2x rx480 in crossfire to match a gtx 1080 when crossfire works, at a much lower price than 1080. For now gtx 1060 is your sweet spot for the budget, but get a gtx 1070 if u can.
Happy gaming :-)

I was planning to build a gaming PC , visited a local hardware store, they showed me a nvdia GT 210, saying it can run any modern games ????. Finally I have my PC built and there is a gtx 1070 in there.

Anir reacted to Dabombinable in Friend Upgrading From AMD APU to GPU
It wouldn't be a bad idea to get your friend to overclock the APU's CPU either, because it will bottleneck the 1050ti (main thing that will be noticed, games will stutter and at times be barely playable despite the maximum and average fps).

Some info before the story itself - before going to university I saved some money and bought myself an Aspire laptop(i5 540m, GTX 540m, 6 GB DDR3(upgraded from 3GB, still don't know who had the bright idea to combine 2GB and 1GB sticks) and 5400rpm hdd). It is a good mid to low end machine, which I used as my main rig for 3-4 years. After starting my first job I bought myself my current PC and a year later - a G751, so I decided to send the old Aspire to my parents to use(the thing still works).
So a friend family went to visit my parents. They have a kid, which is 12-13 years old. My parents gave him the laptop and after 10 minutes a shout came from the room:
- Wow, this is a gaming laptop, isn't it?
- Why do you think so? - asked my father.
- It's red and is so fast...
P.S. I'm curious how will he react to something with ssd in it

Anir got a reaction from SomeGreekGuy in r9 390 vs rx 480
Oh, if that's the fact then you are better with your current card, its powerful enough and Rx 480 won't provide you any sort of better performance than your current rig to justify the upgrade, Rx 480 is more power efficient though. Save some money, and look for used r9 390 on sites like eBay etc. You can get a really good deal there, since many gamers are upgrading to current generation Polaris and pascal.

It's certainly a thermal problem. Try changing the thermal compound of your CPU

Anir got a reaction from ThatSoundGuy in 980ti SLI VS. new 1070
If you have the budget, get another gtx 980ti and put it in sli with current one. By going with gtx 1070 you won't gain much as it is roughly on par with gtx 980ti or more aptly the titan x maxwell. So it's better to do sli to gain performance.

4K - GTX 980TI SLI
Futureproofing and basically same performance - GTX 1070
