  1. For anyone who may be seeing similar issues, I was unable to configure the RGB via Corsair iCUE for my Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro RAM (CMW16GX4M2C3200C16) on my Asus ROG Crosshair VII Hero (Wi-Fi) X470 Motherboard. After contacting both Asus and Corsair, it turns out Corsair are aware of the issue being due to the latest BIOS (v1103) for the motherboard. Corsair communication snippet below: I was able to fix this by reverting the BIOS version to v0804. Corsair iCUE immediately picked up the RAM on reboot and I was able to configure the RGB to my heart's desire! BIOS files for the motherboard in question can be found at: https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/ROG-CROSSHAIR-VII-HERO-WI-FI/HelpDesk_BIOS/ I wonder what changed in the BIOS to cause this kind of issue? Was there some kind of security issue patched that iCUE was using to configure the RGB RAM? Does having RGB RAM and SPD Write enabled make your system more vulnerable?
  2. Do you have any links to these anyway? I guess its worth a look but I think you might be right to just get a better mount.
  3. Does anyone know of a solution on how to add tilt to a fixed 100x100 VESA mount? I would have thought someone makes an adaptor for this by now but was unable to find any
  4. Great card for my planned brother's build to introduce him to the #pcmasterrace
  5. I like the Feenix Autore Keyboard as it looks so stealthy. The build quality is epic too!
  6. Interesting card. I think it will come into its own once there are some more ultra compact mainstream cases around. One note I would say is as a rule you should never use red and green colours together due to anyone who is colourblind! Check out http://colorbrewer2.org/ for colourblind safe, easy to distinguish colourblind schemes!
  7. Hmm interesting... I was looking to futureproof by either going triple 1080p or 21:9 1440p but also looking to add a bit more desk space As much as Edinburgh is a fairly nice place WTF is salt and sauce?
  8. ah silly me WAN show night of course! Yaldi! But is it fixed width? ie bracket would still stick out the sides?
  9. I figured gas would be the way to go... The majority of the reviews are fairly positive although saw 1-2 that mentioned their desks were marked. As there are many different options under the same amazon page, I think that is there to cover the lower spec products. See the 4th picture down for the individual product specs. I saw the Novatech but felt the DM653 offered more flexibility e.g. can use the middle mount only (if there is reduced space or I upgrade to an ultrawide monitor) without needing the full width. A small world! Hello Mad wae it tonight?
  10. Anyone got this? Is it any good? Any similarly priced alternatives? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Duronic-DM653-Powered-Monitor-Bracket/dp/B00OZWLW42/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1425681407&sr=8-1&keywords=Duronic+DM653
  11. Anyone else really annoyed with the way Spotify automatically chooses internal or SD card storage to store offline playlists? This takes away the feeling that the user is in control and breaks rule 7 of Schneiderman's Eight Golden Rules (http://faculty.washington.edu/jtenenbg/courses/360/f04/sessions/schneidermanGoldenRules.html). If anyone agrees then please go to the Spotify community forum and add "Kudos" to their topic regarding this! https://community.spotify.com/t5/Spotify-Ideas/Bring-back-the-option-to-choose-a-folder-for-downloaded-files-on/idi-p/82661
  12. Anyone else excited for the return of a proper RTS? A lot of the old Westwood team back together! See Tek Syndicate's video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iGyA2fGrRXU https://www.greybox.com/greygoo/en/ http://store.steampowered.com/app/290790/?snr=1_7_15__13
  13. http://www.google.co.uk/design/spec/material-design/introduction.html That actually looks quite promising.
  14. I would wager that the UI styles you prefer follow the golden rules I posted above. Apple do a very good job but I would not say their UI/UX design is impeccable. E.g: According to Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_blindness): "In individuals with Northern European ancestry, as many as 8 percent of men and 0.5 percent of women experience the common form of red-green color blindness." 8% is a fairly significant proportion of the population so why do we find these colours together when you have a new text? Apple's messaging app is green and its notification is red. This is not just a dig at Apple as there are many worse offenders out there and to be fair if you are not colourblind you will probably never care. The colorbrewer site above is a result of studies carried out on what colours our eyes find easy to distinguish so regardless of colourblindness we should really adopt these.
