About 10 years ago I owned a line of 4 computer repair shops. One day a woman walked into one of the sites and asked "Can y'all put a bigger brain in my box?". I was lucky that  my business partner (a much more mature individual) was standing there as he smoothly took over the conversation. I very quickly excused myself from the conversation... left the area... and quickly forgot how to breath for about 5 minutes. After the lady left (with a full build sheet in hand) both my business partner and myself damn near died from laughing.

I have a pair of Fidelos, they are very comfortable. Decent clamping, ear cups are large, and soft.

Usually it is a good idea to stick to the QVL memory modules... especially with Ryzen being particularly picky about memory.

Oh my goodness @CableMod that is .... uummmm... painful. Can still see the skill used. However, I just cant dig the Unicorn Barf, and Rainbows look. No RGB for me please.

My current machine is an Intel 3570k @ 4.6GHz, 16GB of DDR3, 512GB 850 Pro SSD, and a GTX 1070.
 
The Power Supply, Video Card, and Storage will be reused in the new machine.

This will all be dropped into a case that I won at an auction for 18 dollars.
 
So the new home for my new PC will be a Corsair Carbide 330R Titanium Edition, although the side panel is a windowed side panel... I don't think that is original.
Parts are arriving by COB on Thursday... I will have the weekend to build.
 
In a couple of weeks the last part will be ordered, an additional ZOTAC GTX 1070 AMP! Edition.
 

Already have the motherboard, waiting on the other parts. The memory was FAR more expensive than the motherboard.

I appreciate that, when I bought that PSU a couple of years ago, I checked on jonnyguru to ensure that it had been beaten on , and that it would stand up. It has been rock solid, even when running two R9 290 cards at one time... I am pretty sure that probably stressed it a bit.

If they are dubious, you have some evidence of your own to present? Or a flaw you'd like to point out in the test methodology? Not trying to be an ass, and I'm glad you're taking interest in the topic, but much like the previous person who just said they're weird/off/dubious, he didn't conduct testing of his own to this degree. 
 
That may be, but his results are still minimum/average framerates in the video's. So he has two faces apparently.
 
Well, you're seeing all cores being maxed out, i'd say it's lack of threads. Especially Watch Dogs 2 can use multiple threads.
Yeah, Ryzen caught my interest with the "for honor" minimum framerates. Aswell as JayzTwoCents's remarks on how smooth the framerates were in GTA 5 compared to Intel parts. Honestly, I think Ryzen has some nice potential to be competitive on a different level than we're used to. We just need to adjust our testing methodology to highlight this.

One of my Radeon R9 290x cards failed on me. A single R9 290x just isnt fast enough to push 100+ FPS @ 1440p. A good friend of mine just upgraded his GFX card to a brand new 1080 Ti, so I bought his old (not really old) Zotac GTX 1070 AMP! Extreme. So far I am impressed with the performance of the GTX 1070, overclocking over 2GHz was super easy.

You are hitting the thermal limit of the Q8300. Thermal limit of that processor is 71.4ºC.

If FPS is the focus... 
 
The first and most important aspect of your system is the Video card.
Second is going to be the Processor, followed by everything else.

I dont allow electronics in my bedroom. Only the alarm clock and it has a night mode which turns everything off.

If it's not starting, something is not connected right.
If it's starting and going off quickly, it's protecting itself from frying, most likely.
 
I would take everything out of the case and mount your PC on a flat static free surface(as much as possible). Don't bother with GPU, HDDs, etc. Just power the mobo, cpu, cooler and monitor to the onboard video - yout goal here is to see the computer POST.
Go safe and sound, calm, try and fail, patiently - you will find out what's faulty eventually.

and for future refernce, test it before you put everything in the case saves headaches like this

^ This is a good point... if you are installing from USB make sure that you have it plugged into USB 2.0, NOT USB 3.0... I cant tell you the number of times that I have made that mistake.
