Yeah this guy is awfull, he got an other video where he says that you can have more ram for free, all he does is making the computer think some of the HDD space is RAM.

My mom wanted to buy some below 100$ headphones for my little sister, I know she will wan't a more beautiful than great sounding headphone. We tried some, I made my mom listen to a cheaply made 60$ Headphones saying it was shit, she took a 25$ one, thinking it was the same and was gonna buy it. I shouted at her saying that she shouldn't buy it because it was a waste of money.
Today I was at Futureshop looking for some headphones (again for my sister). I was listening to the sennheiser's momentum to try them out than a salesmen pointed me to some beats... I said to him that I would never buy them because they're shit, he walked away. (Just saying that he seems to be making a lot more money by selling me beats so he isn't interested of spending his time with me further) I loled.

Or when I go to futureshop, their ''GAMING'' PC's have like a core i7 (not specified more) 12 gigs of RAM and a gts 450... Yeah gaming my ass...

Sorry for the double post but I just did something very funny, I controlled my mom's computer with teamviewer, started playing with her facebook and typing porn in the google search bar, she called me screaming to come help her, she tought she had a virus !

My french teacher wanted to show us a music video, the video was buffering so it stopped working for a while. She said : Maybe the volume is too loud it takes too much internet, try lowering it... (In her defense, in an other class, one of my friends told her that but still...)
 
Oh and she can't get a youtube video in fullscreen mode or get out of fullscreen mode once an other student putted it in fullscreen... And she doesn't turn down the sound of her fucking iPad so we hear her typing when we are supposed to work (yes supposed because all I do is read because this class is useless for me )
 
I went upstairs with a tube of NT-H1 thermal compound and stated using it like I was an heroin addict, my mother was like : What is that !? Me : Someone gave this to me at school. (Wich is false I cought it 6 months ago) Mom : Stop it ! What is that ? H1-N1 !? Me : Calm down it's a joke ! It's only thermal compound... I told my sister I would give her 2$ if she tells me what thermal compound is for. She said : It's to glue your processor to your box. I facepalm even if she couldn't possibly know that

So I got a new rig, my old one is now being used mostly by my mom and sis, a week after I gave it to them I went and used it (it's the only one connected to the printer because I'm too lazy to connect ours to the wi-fi network). IT HAD ALL SORTS OF PROGRAMS I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF. No wonder they were complaining it was BSOD'ing all the time ! When I ask them what they did with it they say : We did nothing we just go onthe internet n stuff... I checked the browser history it it was FILLED with really suspicious sites... I think I'm going to use it as a NAS before they break the hardware in some way...

Oh god... I'm laughing and crying at the same time...

The other day a guy told me a single GTX 780 could not run 5760x1080 because it's not powerfull enough. 
 
He said he OC'ed his GTX 560 to the same specs as the GTX 780 and he was barely running BF4 in 1080p so the 780 could never run 5760x1080.

No point in paying for anything but a home mini. If you want to play music get real speakers.

Don't worry about it, on my driving test I was really stressed and drove incledibly bad compared to usual and I still passed. Only a few points above the passing grade but I still passed

What are some tech-related things that people say that trigger you or other tech fans?

Personally, when someone says "memory" when they mean "storage" it makes me cringe. I once even had a phone-repair shop employee tell me " the ram is what gives your phone its speed".... I felt bad and didn't wan't to tell him how wrong he is so I just pretended like I had no idea about how computers work.

EDIT: Well, this thread blew up.. Apparently i'm not the only one who gets triggered at false statements.

even though its not in place yet. ive noticed that ive been throttled with some websites. ive even had my ad blocker and vpn message me about having my access to a website throttled. and im already being blocked entirely from seeing some American websites. unless i have my vpn connected to an American server.

sumofus.org is saying that Bell, Cineplex, Rogers, and Shaw  "are pushing to create an internet "blacklist" of certain websites that all internet service providers in Canada would legally have to block.", called the "Internet Piracy Review Agency" (IPRA), with no court oversight. According to sumofus.org the vote is happening tomorrow.  Currently there is a petition on sumofus.org to "stop the corporate control over our internet". In the article on huffingtonpost.ca, comments from the companies behind this push seem to unanimously say that this is to fight against piracy. Rob Malcolmson (senior VP at Bell) said "Many of the most prominent global players in the piracy ecosystem operate out of Canada as a relative safe harbour, and Canadians made 1.88 billion visits to piracy sites last year.". 
 
I think it's pretty obvious that this is a bad thing for us consumers and should be stopped. This is a very slippery slope leading towards the banning of any site, not just those meant for pirating. Since there is no court oversight to this blacklist it probably wouldn't be that hard, or take them that long, to start using this blacklist to their advantage. Imagine if Shaw and Rogers (owners of Canadian streaming service Shomi) used their influence to put any competitor (such as Netflix) on this blacklist.
