  1. Update 4 - Sooo... This build log isn't dead! Hello LTT forum, so as the title of this update says, this build log isn't dead. But it has been quite empty from my side of posts but I'm only sure it will get better now because it's summer break for me and I've already done much on this project w/o updating. I will be using spoilers since there are many large pictures and want it to be a bit structured, I hope this won't annoy you. So first off a new case. Now that the quite frankly awesome pictures (according to me:p) are out of the way some boring text is needed. So the plan for this case is to mod it a bit. As this is an ATX case and my motherboard is E-ATX a bit of modification will probably be needed as the wideness of the R5E will probably make the rubber grommets almost fully covered up. Also I might make a light panel below the motherboard for extra looks and lightning. If I do that I will hook it up to my NZXT hue+ (huehuehuehue). I will also be doing a few other things so stay tuned for that. Comment down below of what you think of this. Another new update will come this evening so follow to make sure you don't miss it Have a good one! This concludes update 4
  2. Have u tried repositioning the fan connectors on the motherboard? Like x fan is connected to x fan pins but now I connect x fan to y fan pin.
  3. Update 3 - Hardware installed! Hello everyone, now all of the ''necessary'' hardware is installed. But with one slight drawback, the PCIE riser was defective :C but I've contacted ThermalMike so a replacement will soon be on it's way. In the meantime the GPU is mounted directly on the motherboard and is supported by a piece of plastic. Sorry for the picture's background, they were taken inside on the rug. An overview of the build. CPU close-up picture. Cpu close-up with lightning. (Sorry for picture quality) So. As for what's happening with this build log is that tomorrow I will be continuing it. I will pick up my newly arrived Nzxt Hue+ (hype!!! ) and a phanteks PWM fan hub (small hype! ) Another thing is Carbon fiber wrapping. This will happen and it is going to be both a learning experience but I can almost say for sure it's going to be awesome. My plan is to wrap the whole front layer of the case. Spray painting of noctua fan mounts (the brown corners of the fans) will happen this weekend. I thought of painting them red but I might go with black, any suggestions? Last but not least I will order a Cable mod sleeved extensions pac (screw holding on to my money for pascal) and I'm thinking black and red for the colours. I will either buy a basic or the complete set but basic might be better. And that's all for this build log update, I hope to see you all in the next one. Have good day! Also a bonus picture of temporarily cable management. This concludes build log 3.
  4. Update 2 - Quick and dirty pictures (not really, but messy ) Not much has been built since school has been quite stressful but this weekend I will install the custom loop. A quick overview of what has been done so far. Side-view. When put in perspective, you can actually see how long the radiator is and how many fans there are. Another side-view. Here you can see that I'm in need for some sweet extensions as the 24-pin connector is very thick. But sadly I'm holding tight on my money until Pascal or polaris is revealed. So if any sleeved extensions would come it would be from any potential sponsors. Also a quick apology to any potential readers that the build log is going slow. For me education is a number one priority and this project comes second. I will be continuing this weekend however so please look forward to that. This concludes build log update 2.
  5. Update 1.5 - The rest of the pictures PS: I will start building the computer this Friday.
  6. Update 1 - All the parts are here! Pictures inside spoilers. Although the pictures are downscaled (quite a lot) there are still quite a lot of them, you have been warned. The picture that every build log needs:
  7. The GPU will be upgraded but I needed something temporarily so I could boot up the PC, maybe OC CPU, look for bugs and potential problems. This is as for now until pascal or polaris or whatever I decide to stick with.
  8. Yeah I agree, i think it will be one of the biggest GPU bottlenecks ever created. Yeah, I will game quite a lot but it will also be used for video production as well as animation and such. I will post an update later today with all the parts that have arrived. Hopefully All parts will have arrived by tomorrow, It says UPS will come today but who knows? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
  9. Hello LTT forum! This will be my build log for my soon-to-be PC. I've worked a lot and for a long time to save money for this rig so I only chose the top tier components from the best and most reliable companies. Some quick general info about me: I'm a guy who lives in southern Sweden. I have a very big interest for computers, gaming but I am also quite interested in video and photography production. Keep in mind that for me school and my own personal health is always the prioritization. This means that if I have an upcoming test(s), which I have, the build will be delayed and therefore there is no set date when I intend to finish the log. Here is a PCP link:http://pcpartpicker.com/p/NXrkkL And some reasoning and explaining. The Thermaltake core p5 can handle an e-ATX board (most of them) and especially since the Rampage is not that bigger. The only difference is cable routing becomes a bit more difficult. As for the GPU it is still not decided. I might wait for Pascal/ polaris or get a current GPU. But in the meantime I will be using the Asus r7 360. I would love to get sponsored though since there are so many good GPU manufacturers. Vinyl wrapping the core p5 is definitely something I would see myself doing but it is not prioritized as of now. As for lightning and LED strips I already have some light-sources in my case, the light sources will be (as of now) the water block with a red led and the Klevv Cras RAM. These are the parts that are either Received/ shipping/ not ordered. CPU: Received Motherboard: Received Storage: Received PSU: Received GPU:Not ordered Temporary GPU: Received OS: Received Water Cooling Parts: Received Fans: Received Case: Received RAM: Received I sincerely hope that we can have a good time both posting and reading this build log and that this project becomes a huge success.
