  1. I have the key for it but it's classed as legacy software and it's size NI (native instruments) don't do a download for it. I can get bits of it, as it's essentially a software package but not the bits I want. I have had a bit more of a google and found a piece of software suggesting that can do it but from what you and others have said I take it I should avoid that?
  2. Hey guys, Long story short, I need to move software from one PC to another but I don't have the original installation discs for the software and due to it's size it's not available for download. I've had a look online but I can't figure out if there is a way to copy it from one machine to another by perhaps using an external HDD. I don't see why it couldn't be done but I'm not sure (hence the question), can anyone help?
  3. I would like a 34" ultrawide with a portrait display, I read loads of research articles (in PDF format) so it would make like much easier. Unfortunately I cannot fit that setup onto my desk. So I've been looking for a decent priced 27" 1440p monitor and found the asus PB277Q, 1ms response, 75hz, 1440p, 27", it ticks the boxes for me but do you have any thoughts on that for a productivity/gaming monitor? - I will try a few configs with my this and my current two 23" 1080p monitors before buying a second 1440p one.
  4. I'm after some advice here with regards to getting a new gaming monitor. I've got two 1080p 23" monitors at present and for productivity, they have been fine but one is slowly dying and I would prefer to game on a single larger monitor and have a second one to the side. I initially thought of getting a 27" 4k monitor and when it came to game time just gaming at 1080p on the 4k monitor but after some searching, I believe that is a bad idea. The next thought was to just go bigger and get a 27" 1080p monitor, I found a cheap one with better specs than my current ones but again after some searching people were suggesting 1080p isn't a good resolution for a screen that size. I've looked at some 1440p monitors, I could game at that resolution (my GPU is a gtx1070ti) and it would give me some more real estate for productivity but the issue I then have is do I just go for a 1440p or go for an ultrawide? - I believe ultrawide isn't supported in some games yet and I don't want to be forced to have black bars at either side of the monitor. So all in all, I was pretty sure the 27" 1080p monitor would be fine until the internet put doubt in my mind. Does anyone want to add some thoughts/suggestions?
  5. I agree it's interesting but it boils down to an attempt to quantify mastery, which really can't be done.
  6. Hey guys, I'm curious when you build a new rig what do you do with the old one? Do you keep it and repurpose it or just sell it? I'm asking as I've built my new rig and now my MacBook is getting very little use and I'm conflicted as to whether I should sell it or keep it.
  7. Update... I tried rotating the rad so the pipes were at the bottom, however, this didn't work. I've took the unit out of the rig and gave it a good shake and it seems to be working a-ok.
  8. So far the noise has pretty much stopped, whilst it's been tilted. Rather than tempting fate, I'm going to leave it alone now and see how it is in the morning. Hopefully, I don't need to shake it.
  9. I take it from what you're saying that the air is trapped in the pump itself? - So, I've tried elevating the front of the case so the radiator is higher still, which has actually decreased the noise, so given a few hours it may remedy the problem (hopefully). If not I'll shake it I assume shaking it I need to take the AIO out of the rig, or can I just shake the rig?
  10. Yup... But is there any suggestions for getting this noise to stop? It's not exactly a soothing sound.
  11. Hey, I put my new rig together on Monday using a Coller Master ML240 AIO, it's doing the job fine however, the AIO now has a 'crackling'. I've had a look on google and it would seem to be air bubbles, a few videos suggest shaking it and that the noise should lessen after being on for a while but I'm curious is there a way to bleed it or any other ways to stop this as neither has helped.
  12. Transfering the same file, the speeds are hitting upwards of 3MB/s at times and averaging at about 1.75MB/s. Must have been something to do with DHCP and static IP? Either way it's much better than it was.
  13. Thanks... I tried changing the settings on the cloud this morning, it was using DHCP so I've set it up with a static IP. Unfortunately, I didn't have time to test it as I had to get to class so I will test it when I get home and update.
  14. Ok, good to know I've not messed that up then. In both instances, the files were being transferred to the internal drives on both machines both with ssds.
  15. I won't mess with them then. As for the antenna that is on a speaker in front of the PC. I don't suppose it could be an issue with how I've mapped the drive(s) in windows?
